Lennie appears to be a pure bred Treeing Tennessee Brindle who was dumped when his owners found out he had a severe heart murmur caused by a congenital defect. He was trained to hunt raccoons and is being retrained to be a suburban pet.

I have worked at the Lake County Illinois elections for years. Wireless data never keeps up with demand on Election Day so by the end the data is out of sync. This is in a suburban area. Iowa is largely rural - not surprised.

Late Friday night after some rum over ice, human sent a message to Very Bad Therapy podcast about a very bad therapy experience and another therapist who made excuses about it later, they want to air the story. Speaking up is very validating.

Also human has very good therapist now who agrees that experience was horrible and both others were completely wrong.

Bonus points if you have heard of the Native American boarding schools, know about efforts to eliminate tribal languages, knew not all Native Americans live on reservations, and are aware that pre-Columbian civilizations traded extensively throughout the Americas. 2/

More random thoughts - if you have been supposedly following a spiritual path based on Native American ideas for decades, you should know that First Nations are in Canada, most US reservations do not have internet access and not all tribes have the same beliefs. 1/
