This is by far the most fun I’ve had with a 7 win deck. A single win condition, and in the finals it was countered. Ground out the win with a single 3/2 flyer working overtime. #MTGDuskmourn waiting room.
1/ Only got the $1k, but back to back day two draft 2 feels good. This format has a neat trick that I haven’t seen a lot of drafters discuss - the cards that’s aren’t specific to a color pair are good in EVERY color pair (jolly gerbils, 1/3 mana mole, etc.) if you prioritize
3/ the 2/4 bats table and the gerbil is still good. But if you’re guessing wrong then gerbil is still good in Boros or Selesnya. Take those weird animals. Today they made me one thousand dollars. #mtga
The rest are all variations on these themes (except for raccoons, I’ve sworn off raccoons). I also take Ral no matter what when I see it, and I believe I can make it work 😂
I’ve drafted a huge amount of Bloomburrow and wanted to share some of my 7 win arena decks. Screenshots of each deck below with explanations on why I think they got the trophy. #MTGA
Another season of loss deck. And also a decent bats deck. It’s nice that the bats deck doesn’t require toooo many bats to be a real deck. Stargaze overperformed mostly because it found season of loss.
Here’s an alchemy list. It’s my favorite deck in the format that I’ve drafted. Every single win was a cascade of value generated by the three talents. Each card in the deck was removal or helped the engine run.
Of my 7 win decks, 4 of them contain season of loss. This was my favorite. So many different removal options and my favorite combo in the format - splash portal plus daring waverider.
One of my best rabbit decks. The large number of removal spells made the caretakers talent better than it normally is and gave me time to win with FIVE INTREPID RABITS. HOW DID I DO THAT.
Classic example of UG frogs. With a fine showing of rares. Greenshell was of course fantastic, but valley mightcaller can win you the game on turn one. Pond prophet and sticky tongue combo was the reason I won the games I didn’t draw my rares.
Obviously carried by triple Mabel. But don’t sleep on blacksmith’s talent - that card is a big reason to be in Boros. Had to stretch into some poor options to make sure I had removal for opposing bombs.
This one is from the first few days of the format so there is a little bit of learning happening. Bandit’s talent and the foray into rabbit land would probably have been avoided if I drafted the same deck today. Huge shout out to beza - carried me on the games I should have lost
One of the most classic examples of the squirrels. Nothing insane, just decent cards that work well together. Spent most games running creatures into each other until it felt safe to resolve Osteomancer Adept.
