@Alejand47821795 "Conversely, research has shown that having children actually raises wages for men, even when correcting for the number of hours they work." Wow! Why should women be punished when a family is shared between the two? Just because she is carrying the baby? That's sad! #SUsocialwork
@KMcLaughlinMSW "We're studying it carefully and are committed to making sure students have opportunity to learn in safe and nurturing environments" ... why has it taken so many school shootings to make a change? I just hope we go in the right direction and not backwards.. #SUsocialwork
@awhite891 You would think adequate funding to ensure a school environment has what it needs so students can focus on their education would be priority. It seems like a basic right to me. Some of these conditions the schools are in is unacceptable! #SUsocialwork

"Kentucky’s ‘child bride’ bill stalls as groups fight to let 13-year-olds wed.” I can't believe anyone would think it would be okay to led a child get married. What do you guys think? ... #SUsocialwork
@A_eldridge5 I think parents have a right to know about bullying ... especially to the severity this child was experiencing it. Schools can let parents know without telling information the child may not be ready to share yet. This is a matter of saving lives. #SUsocialwork
@KatieMSmith_SU This is wrong on so many levels. Even with raising the pay to minimum wage, the tips that waitresses and bartenders get is their hard earned tips. I know Europe is different than America but the pay is also quite different. I'm curious to see how this goes! #SUsocialwork
@MKWADE23 It's so important to provide resources to the immigrants such as the community house. They are wanting to help and work in a profession many aren't willing to do. It is not right that they worry of being deported constantly! #SUsocialwork
@KMcLaughlinMSW I think this is great for students to get involved with. They made a two year commitment to this. As said in the article "grew to become more than just a research project but a community that became an important and meaningful part of everyone's lives." #SUsocialwork
@M_Marlene_M "But the overall message it served to students was to be more active in changing unjust planning laws and building the better world they want to see." What a great message and example for all students! #SUsocialwork
"According to a national survey, only 54% of transgendered victims reported their bullies to school authorities." Only about a third reported were taken seriously. School should be a safe zone!

@KMcLaughlinMSW@voxdotcom "The essence of violence is a fundamental shift in a relationship." I couldn't agree with this more. If we use violence to correct a behavior we don't like, what does that teach our children? That we hit when someone does something we do not like?#SUsocialwork
@A_eldridge5 This breaks my heart. 4 years for those kids to live in these conditions? I can't believe no one knew about this for that long. This opens my eyes to the epidemic of homelessness and the change that needs to happen. #SUsocialwork
@MKWADE23 We have to ask ourselves how do we stop school shootings? Would arming teachers stop these tragedies or create a bigger problem? On top of everything we now expect teachers to be experts on guns? Doesn't make sense. #SUsocialwork
@KMcLaughlinMSW "The overall goal is to give teachers the tools to deal with a variety of mental and emotional health issues" ... a goal that seems doable, yet how many school shootings have happened and we are not making progress? We need to make moves. #SUsocialwork
"Punitive interventions don’t solve those problems. Detentions don’t; nor do suspensions, expulsions or paddling. Nor does arresting a kid at school and punting his problems to the courts." We need change! #SUsocialwork

@MKWADE23 I know there are hormones that a woman can take that tricks her body into thinking she is pregnant to produce milk to breastfeed. I wonder if those too contain potential harmful substances? Great article. #SUsocialwork
@awhite891 Wow! How amazing is this. I would love to attend something like that. Not only is it open to college student and high school students, but the community! What a great way to come together and learn! #SUsocialwork
@A_eldridge5 I enjoyed reading the signs of what anxiety may look like in a child. Also, being reminded how reassurance when having anxiety can be a major help. Kids may not know exactly how to express their anxious feelings. #SUsocialwork
@foley_graham Very interesting article. Sometimes it is easy for people to be disgusted with what someone has done rather than figure out why someone has done what they have done. Something has to be done with so many mass shootings :( #SUsocialwork
