Profile Q & A - “One Hundred Seventy-five Countries Later, Eritrea: Vanquished Hegemonies, Quiet Resilience, and Green Resolve”, Prof. Saleem H. Ali

*"...It was so refreshing to observe peaceful coexistence between Muslims and Christians in public life. Religious identity is visible but not a source of everyday friction; instead, it is woven into a shared civic fabric. That coexistence extends into workplaces and markets, where people of different faiths interact routinely and respectfully".

*"...Eritrea left me with a sense of wonder - at its architecture, its coastal beauty, and its social fabric. While challenges remain, it is a country which has vanquished colonialism and Cold War hegemony with tenacity. That sentence captures what I felt: a nation that has endured, that holds on to its cultural and spiritual landmarks, and that is quietly working toward environmental and social sustainability. My three days were only an introduction, but they were enough to make me want to return.

PRESS STATEMENT

Hoax News Story on the Phantom “Eritrean Oil Tanker”

This bizarre story is astounding on many counts:
- All the information in the public domain about this ship shows that it is not owned by, and has no links whatsoever with, Eritrea.
- IMO records show that "the ship is flying a false Eritrean flag; i.e, as not owned by or officially registered in Eritrea". This was duly confirmed to Eritrea's Permanent Mission to the IMO.
- Yet, the usual culprits chose to abandon all semblance of journalistic standards to indulge in, and unleash, another despicable campaign of disinformation on Eritrea.

#Eritrea's Mufti, Sheikh Salim I. al-Mukhtar, delivered religious sermon and blessings.

The Mufti underlined, in his sermon, the imperative of continued adherence to Eritrea's foundational ethical precepts and standards in this age of globalization, and the preservation and further consolidation of its harmonious national unity and cohesion secured through the precious sacrifice of its Martyrs.

Excellent Read - “ኮራለይ/My Coral”: #Eritrean Women’s Timeless Beauty; by Kidane Shimendi

*"...As I learn more about what she (Snit Habteab) is manifesting at the global stage, I have discovered Eritrean women’s timeless beauty in her inspiring life journey, captivating smile, graceful body motion, and very-well informed briefing".

*"...When I started looking for the right word that can capture Eritrean women’s remarkable beauty, a widely popular love song ኮራለይ a Tigrinya word for 'my coral', crossed my mind. I felt the majestic beauty of a coral reef could capture Eritrean women’s timeless beauty and Eritrea’s essence as a maritime nation".

*''...Both demonstrate the value of 'unity in diversity'. They embody a flawless harmony of their several distinct internal diversities. For instance, Eritrean women’s diverse traditional hair braids can be likened to the intricate organic architecture of coral reefs. Also, both share common unwavering spirit of resilience: Eritrean women’s endurance during catastrophes such as war and draught and coral reefs’ endurance in the face of global warming and other human-induced environmental disasters".

*"...When these nine distinct threads are woven together, they create a national aesthetic that is breathtakingly rich. Just like the coral reef, the beauty of Eritrea is magnificent because it refuses to be a monolith; it is a thriving, collective ecosystem of diverse human expression".

*"...Another common element of beauty that likens Eritrean women to the coral reef is the value of resilience. Both have the undeniable common bond of absolute resilience. A coral reef is not a fragile decoration. It is a biological fortress... The beauty of an Eritrean woman is a beauty that has looked into the face of hardship and refused to bow. It is etched into the dignified, upright posture of an elder matriarch who raised a family through wartime".

[Amb. Sophia Tesfamariam @AmbStesfamariam]

Welcomed Mr. Rosevel Pierre Louis, EAD Deputy Director at @UNDPPA, to @Eritrea_UN. We discussed developments in the #Horn region in particular, and #Africa in general. #Eritrea’s positions on the issues are clear and have been articulated consistently in multiple forums.

#Africa needs honest brokers for peace, trusted by all sides, not more competing diplomatic tracks driven by external interests. It needs principled engagement, respect for sovereignty, and a genuine commitment to ending conflicts rather than simply managing them.

Despite numerous diplomatic initiatives and engagements, several conflicts in the #Horn region remain unresolved, while people continue to lose their lives, livelihoods and hope for a peaceful future. Arms continue to flow, external interests compete, and the international community too often appears unable, or unwilling, to take meaningful action to stop the bloodshed.

Peace cannot be built through selective engagement, geopolitical calculations or the pursuit of competing strategic interests. It requires listening to all sides, addressing the root causes of conflict, and fostering the political will and conditions necessary for viable and sustainable solutions.

The people of the #Horn have endured enough. They need peace brokers who are trusted, impartial and genuinely committed to peace, not to managing conflict or advancing another agenda. The world cannot continue to remain silent while the region pays the price.

#Eritrea will continue to engage constructively, share its perspectives and seek solutions, while fostering greater understanding through its engagement with and at the @UN.

#Eritrea: Statement at Fourth Regional Ministerial Steering Committee (ReSCO);
(Delivered by Ambassador Beyene Russom, Ambassador of the State of Eritrea to Kenya and Tanzania, on behalf of H.E. Ms. Amna Nurhussien; Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, )

*"...Eritrea strongly believes that resilient primary health care is the foundation of both improved health outcomes and stronger health security. We have invested in a community-based primary health care system anchored in a cost-effective Basic Health Care Package that extends essential services to rural, remote and nomadic communities".

*"...The backbone of this system is our network of more than 300 health facilities and over 3,000 community health agents, who serve as the first line of defense in disease detection, maternal and child healthcare, and health promotion".

*"..Through the Expanded Programme on Immunization and the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness, Eritrea has maintained immunization coverage above 90 per cent and reduced under-five mortality by more than 70 per cent since 1990".

*"...Regarding financing, more than 85 per cent of Eritrea’s health budget is domestically sourced. This reflects our firm commitment to health sovereignty"

*"...We also welcome innovation in digital health, solar-powered health facilities and the local production of essential medicines to reduce supply-chain vulnerabilities... We remain aligned with the regional objective of reducing the number of zero-dose children and building integrated and resilient primary health care systems".

&"...Eritrea reaffirms its commitment to Africa CDC, the regional priorities that will emerge from this meeting, and the achievement of a stronger, healthier and more self-reliant Africa".

This harrowing crime amplifies two cardinal issues:
1. Inherent flaws of UNHCR's deplorable Eligibility Guidelines (2011/12) originally designed to promote malicious political agendas of harassment and "strategic depopulation" against Eritrea but whose blanket "asylum procedures" have allowed other nationals to obtain asylum masquerading as "persecuted Eritreans" ; (the estimates vary from 40% to 70% in several European countries).
2. The feckless norms and practices of Legacy Media who routinely misconstrue heinous and repugnant crimes of a deranged immigrant for purposes of stigmatization and racist/xenophobic campaigns against the Global South; (even RT recycled the story of defamation against Eritrea without any modicum of validation).

Profile Q & A - #Erirea, Nature Treats Nature: A Conversation with Mikal Tewelde; by Kidane Shimendi

*"...My product is called Selihom Herbal Hair Oil. It is a premium, 100% natural hair care formulation designed to combat hair thinning, dry scalp, and breakage. It delivers targeted scalp nourishment and offers proven hair growth benefits without synthetic chemicals or harsh additives".

*"...The commercial hair care industry is one of the world’s largest markets, and everyone naturally wants healthy, great-looking hair. However, because most commercial products are filled with harmful chemicals and fillers, their long-term damage often outweighs their short-term benefits. In contrast to market alternatives, Selihom Herbal Hair Oil relies on pure botanical infusions rather than synthetic silicones or mineral oils that cause product buildup. Standard conditioners merely coat the hair shaft without addressing root health, whereas our bioactive herbal extracts penetrate the scalp directly to stimulate circulation and promote hair retention. Furthermore, while imported options remain expensive, our local solution provides a high-quality, affordable alternative".

*"...My research is ongoing as I work to develop complementary organic hair care products. Guided by scientific principles, my ultimate goal is to establish a dedicated production facility and shop. Additionally, I hope to inspire other local scientific professionals to explore local manufacturing initiatives".

The Weaponization of Victimhood: How Ethiopia’s Prosperity Party Trapped itself in Its Own Regional Expansionist Ploys
Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Research and Documentation Division
18 August 2026

*"...For the past three years, the PP has been openly threatening the sovereignty and territorial integrity of its neighbors; questioned the very existence of sovereign states; and, through its collusion with disruptive external actors, systematically contributed to the destabilization of the Horn of Africa. Yet today, it cries foul, manufacturing a narrative of 'encirclement and external conspiracy' to conceal its own crippling domestic shortcomings and regional failures".

*"...the Prosperity Party’s campaign against Eritrea is a naked attempt to externalize a deep-seated domestic crisis and can neither hoodwink its domestic constituency nor the international community".

*"...Eritrea’s sovereignty is not a bargaining chip, nor is it a historical inconvenience to be corrected according to the miscalculations of a reckless neighbor. It is an immutable fact of international law and African political history. Duplicitous attempts of manufacturing a narrative of encirclement by hostile alliances, and portrayal of the primary initiator of regional tensions as the 'the innocent victim' cannot alter that reality".

#Eri101: Fabricating narratives about their victim/prey is a common trait of colonizers & occupiers.
In decolonizing their country, Eritreans have consigned the tales of the 'hunter' to the dustbin of history.
Now, the lion writes its own history—a history of dignity & glory.
