Africa has spoken with one voice at the 2025 UN Climate Change Conference (COP 30) in Belém, Brazil and the world has listened. Ethiopia extends its heartfelt gratitude to the African Group of Negotiators for their unanimous endorsement of Ethiopia’s bid to host COP 32 in Addis Ababa in 2027. We are grateful for the opportunity that the Conference of the Parties is giving us to spearhead the collective effort to tackle one of the most daunting challenges faced by humanity. We are honored to be entrusted by the global community with such an important responsibility. Re GERD - my advice to Egypt. Drop the political drama and engage with Ethiopia professionally on technical issues. I know from experience that Ethiopia cannot be bullied and the more you push the more immovable they become. It’s time to accept today’s reality!

The rising turbulence in #Ethiopia is heartbreaking, as are the voices predicting the nation will fracture. We need to remember that throughout Ethiopia's 2000 plus years it has faced crises after crises and emerged stronger. With God's grace it will again.

There is no water shortage in the Nile basin currently. There is only perception of water shortage. Perception creates reality and I am a afraid the media is out campaigning to create a perception which will create real shortage. The cosmic principle is ‘you get what you ask’
