According to the 2022 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), Delaware ranked 47th in the nation, with the 4th worst test scores in the nation for both math and reading.

We must demand that we do better.

As the end of summer approaches and our children head back to school, A Better Delaware will focus on education issues. We plan to spread awareness regarding academic performance, school funding, school choice, discipline, security, absenteeism, etc.

Do not let the current administration sell you a false bill of goods. Delaware has the 3rd worst unemployment rate in the nation, much higher than our neighboring states. Delaware is currently 60 basis points higher than the national average.

From one-time Federal funds through COVID-19 spending, Delaware’s economy has received a temporary adrenaline shot. But as soon as the relief money is gone, Delaware’s economy will be in shambles, with our economy today being 8.7% smaller than in 2016.

According to the Caesar Rodney Institute Report Card, New Castle County’s economy is 2.8% smaller today than in 2003.
New Castle’s economy has continued to suffer through the current majority’s administration in the Tatnell Building and Legislative Hall.

Electric vehicles are, on average, 30% more than the average gasoline-powered vehicle.

With DNRECs move to ban gasoline-powered vehicles, the current administration is taking away choices from the people and actively promoting a more expensive and less efficient choice.

According to a report by the Pacific Research Institute, state energy mandates have imposed a more than $2,000 burden on every Californian through higher energy costs and reduced economic output.

If Delaware follows suit, expect the same to happen here.

Passing the House with a narrow margin, HB 123 would require the DNREC to seek approval from the General Assembly before any regulatory mandates.

In other words, the people must have their say before unelected bureaucrats decide on your behalf.

If Dover has its way, Delaware will be on the path to adopting the California regulations and limiting choice to the consumer.
