Honestly he was before my time but from everything I have read/watched he was far and away United best player of the 80βs and rightly gained legend status.
@Cantona_Collars A - second only to Schmeichel. The backbone of the 07/08 era triumphs! We arguably bought him at the right time as he had matured into a top class, all round goalkeeper. De Gea came close but truthfully weβll struggle to ever replace him.
@Cantona_Collars C - You could see how gifted he was in fleeting moments between injuries. Dovetailed well with Rooney in the rare matches they started together.

2009 summer transfer window really was the beginning of the end of United as a world class team, Owen did a job but he was a shadow of his former self due to previous injuries. No-one will forget the derby winner though!
@Cantona_Collars C
I liked his attitude and commitment but if we are being honest he was symptomatic of the ever increasing mediocrity which had been allowed to enter the club post-Fergie which had started with Fellaini.

Not a world beater in terms of individual ability but a brilliant captain and leader for Fergies first great team of 93/94. Organised, resilient and brilliant in the air in both boxes.
His 2 goals against Sheff Wed was the spark which lit the fire for the 90βs. Legend.
@Zonal_Marking@Robert_mac88 Iβd like to disagree with you but most of the time I see players leave contracts from Scottish clubs, they often then sign for League 1 clubs or lower Championship clubs. Probably about accurate.

Sits alongside Bobby Charlton in that midfielder/forward role and being one of the greatest to ever do it.
The most naturally gifted player I ever saw live.
@Cantona_Collars B.
Struggled first few seasons with injury and expectation, hit his top level 97-2000 and then dropped off when Van Nistelrooy arrived.
@Cantona_Collars Didnβt even see it!
He is an undoubted talent but he joins a long, long list of players who are talented but failed at OT post-Fergie.
