From Lamu to London: Omar Kibulanga takes his work to an international stage.

Omar, an alumnus of our Executive Masters in Media Leadership and Innovation programme, will present his paper at the Baraza Swahili Studies Conference 2026 at SOAS University of London on 1 November.

His paper, “Strategy for Establishment of a Swahili Creative Economy and Innovation Ecosystem: Kiwandeo Kreative District, Lamu, Kenya,” builds on an award-winning academic capstone project he developed at GSMC.

We look forward to seeing his work reach new audiences.
