ये कहानी किसी अख़बार की हेडलाइन से नहीं शुरू हुई थी। ये शुरू हुई थी एक ख़ामोश मैदान से जहाँ कुछ ��ड़कियाँ, जो देख नहीं सकतीं, बस सुन सकती थीं। बल्ला थामे वो सहमी सी लडकियाँ पहली बार मैदान पर उतरीं। ना तो कोई कैमरा था, ना कोई तालियाँ, ना ही कोई प्रायोजक साथ में था। थी तो सिर्फ़ हिम्मत और वो गेंद जिसकी झनझनाती हुई आवाज़ उनकी एक मात्र आशा थी।

ब्लाइंड महिला क्रिकेट टीम हमारी खेल यात्रा का सबसे नया अध्याय है। क्रिकेट एसोसिएशन फॉर द ब्लाइंड इन इंडिया (CABI) के तहत कुछ साल पहले इसका आधिकारिक गठन हुआ था। जब ये सवाल उठने लगा कि अगर पुरुषों के लिए ब्लाइंड क्रिकेट टीम है तो महिलाएँ क्यों नहीं खेल सकतीं?

और इस सपने के पीछे थी समर्थनम ट्रस्ट फॉर द डिसेबल्ड!

एक संस्था जिसने सालों तक देशभर से दृष्टिबाधित प्रतिभाओं को ढूँढा, सिखाया और आ��े बढ़ाया।

और फिर आता है अप्रैल 2023 !

सत्रह खिलाड़ी, जो राष्ट्रीय ट्रायल्स से चुनी गईं, पहली बार भारत की जर्सी पहनकर नेपाल के खिलाफ़ काठमांडू और पोखरा में खेले गए द्विपक्षीय T20 सीरीज़ में उतरीं थी।

भारत ने यह सीरीज़ 1–3 से हार दी, पर हर मैच इतना कड़ा था कि जीत और हार के बीच बस कुछ गेंदों का फ़र्क था। इन हारों ने टीम को तोड़ा नहीं, बल्कि और मजबूती से गढ़ा था।

फिर दिसंबर 2023 में जब मुंबई में दूसरी द्व���पक्षीय सीरीज़ हुई,
जहाँ भारत ने शानदार वापसी की! नेपाल को 4–1 से हराकर इतिहास रच दिया

उस रोज़ उन्होंने तिरंगा देखा नहीं, सुना था।

तब से उनका हर मैच एक सबक बन गया था कि खेल सिर्फ़ जीतने के लिए नहीं होता, कभी-कभी वो समाज को देखना सिखाने के लिए भी खेला जाता है। आगे चलकर हरमनप्रीत कौर और स्मृति मंधाना जैसी सितारों के समर्थन से इनकी कहानी और बुलंद हुई यह याद दिलाने के लिए कि दृष्टि आँखों में नहीं, हिम्मत में होती है।

कुछ दिनों बाद दुनिया का ध्यान जाता है जब IBSA World Games 2023 में भारत की ब्लाइंड टीम महिला ने स्वर्ण पदक जीतती है।

शांत गरिमा के साथ उन्होंने दुनिया को बताया कि वो यहाँ हैं , देखने नहीं, दिखाने के लिए।

और दोस्तों अब वो तैयार हैं Women’s Blind T20 World Cup 2025 के लिए! एक मं�� जो उन्होंने खुद बनाया है, ईंट-ईंट जोड़कर, सपने-सपने बुनकर।

जब हमारी Dekh Le India की टीम ने इस कहानी पर काम शुरू किया, तो लगा था कि ये एक खेल पर बनी डॉक्यूमेंट्री होगी। पर धीरे-धीरे एहसास हुआ ये कहानी तो समानता, साहस और आत्मविश्वास की ध्वनि है।

तो आज जब देश एक जीत का जश्न मना रहा है, आइए याद करें उस टीम को जो तालियों के लिए नहीं, *पहचान* के लिए खेलती है। क्योंकि अंधत्व अंधकार नहीं है, वो एक अलौकिक प्रभा है।
