Making progress on the new lander. The upper section will be almost unchanged. The lower section has the two brushless motors with 7" props, landing legs, LiDAR and TVC servos
I really should've tested the EDF before building the lander. Instead of using a larger EDF, I think I'm going to use a contra-rotating bldc motor setup to avoid the weird gyroscopic effects of the EDF. Working on the CAD for the new motor setup
Saw some cool aircraft at AeroIndia Bangalore today. This was my first time doing aviation photography and it was really fun!
1 - Su30
2 - Suryakirans
3 - Su57
4 - F35
Changing up the CAD for the EDF lander. I'll be using carbon fiber rods + 3D printed parts for structure rather than a big old cardboard tube to save weight.
Pretty early on in the CAD, but I have most of the major components in the design
New Project! I'm going to build a thrust-vectored EDF-powered hopper vehicle. The end goal is to land it on chopsticks like Superheavy.
So far I have a basic CAD model of the hopper and I'm working on the air intake and thrust tube for the EDF.
Very hyped about this project!
Working on a new Ground Control UI for the EDF lander.
I'm done with the basic layout, now I have to work on displaying the raw telemetry and the backend stuff
Working on a test stand for the EDF Lander project. It's going to be made out of a 2020 aluminum extrusion with a load cell on the bottom to measure EDF thrust and a load cell on one of the "arms" for the jet vane characterization.
