My only experience of Iran was over 26 years ago. Apart from a lovely carpet and an old silver caviar dish, I returned from the trip with two clear conclusions: 1) That a theocracy hasn’t been able to suffocate the soul of an evolved society 2) Political change, whenever it came, would be led by Iranian women—arguably the real force that keeps Iran ticking.
