The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Wednesday suspended the licence of Mumbai’s iconic Parsi Dairy Farm at Marine Lines after an inspection allegedly found hygiene violations.
Established in 1916, Parsi Dairy Farm is the latest among the city’s heritage food establishments to face regulatory action. The FDA had recently suspended the licences of K. Rustom’s ice cream parlour, as well as the Shalimar and Noor Mohammadi restaurants, over hygiene-related violations.
In Karnataka, a farmer cleared his ₹50,000 loan.
Months later, Canara Bank contacted him over an outstanding balance of ₹9.34 😅
He paid ₹10 and demanded 66 paise back, saying, "If banks count every paisa from us, shouldn’t we count ours too?" 😂

#Mumbai’s air pollution may be worse than what data shows.

What a Day!
Day 1 of the two-day national meet in Udupi themed Accelerating Inner Bharat - The New Growth Engine to discuss development beyond the top-tier cities was inaugurated by Prof. Anantha Nageswaran, the chief economic advisor to the government of India and former member of Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister. In in keynote speech, he underlined that the success of inner Bharat is keyed to the resurgence of inner-strength and inner-security of the people of Bharat. He called for a paradigm shift where indigenous culture and economy of each region is embraced rather shunned for pre existing templates or adopted ideas.
During the same session, the Chief Economic Advisor and other esteemed guests unveiled a report titled "Transcending the Tiers - Vision Document." The report authored and presented by yours truly (Rashmi Samant) originally from Udupi, showcased the remarkable development of Udupi's knowledge-based industry, which has contributed to an impressive Gross Domestic District Product of $5.19 Billion (current prices). It emphasized the importance of adopting a model of mixed economy, vertical integration, and comparative advantage in other regions of inner Bharat to replicate Udupi's success. The report also underscored the need for strategic infrastructure investments in the region. It advocated for the establishment of an airport, a major port with vertically integrated Special Economic Zone (SEZ), a tourism corridor following a hub-and-spoke approach, a planned education city, and a fintech incubator. These initiatives aim to unlock the untapped potential of the region by leveraging its existing competencies and fostering further growth.
