My friend’s car delivery was delayed,
so he left the dealership a 1 star review,
after deleting it, he found out that the showroom advisor was trying to visit his home using the address on his Aadhaar.
My friend booked a Kia Syros EV on August 22. The SA had promised delivery by the first week of September.
But once September arrived, the story changed.
Every time, he got the same response
"The vehicle is coming for billing tomorrow, it will be here next Monday."
Because of the repeated delays,
he may now miss the deadline for the 3 year, 80% buyback scheme.
On top of that, the leave he took specifically for the delivery has also gone to waste.
Frustrated, my friend posted a 1 star Google review about the dealership.
Soon after, the SA, Team Lead and Customer Service Manager started calling him repeatedly.
The SA became emotional and said the review could cost him his job and that he was already facing financial difficulties.
Feeling bad for him, my friend agreed to delete the review.
But then he discovered something that completely changed the situation
The SA was allegedly trying to visit my friend’s home using the home address mentioned on his Aadhaar document.
Now this is no longer just about a delayed car delivery.
Is it appropriate for a dealership employee to use a customer’s private KYC or Aadhaar address to visit their home after a negative review ?
Should my friend escalate this directly to Kia’s regional or nodal officer ?
And could using KYC data in this manner justify a formal legal notice or police complaint ?
If this happened to you, how would you deal with the dealership ?
