A tweet from 2017! And I keep looking for where we can improve more and more! It's really cool to think that it was a huge challenge at the beginning and that we've already come so far! #ICURehab#PedsICU#IllnessDoesntMeanStillness
One of the most helpful presentations of the conference in my opinion. Tools are the bridge to better results, just as data is the path to improving these results. So follow the next tweets! @DrDaleNeedham#ICURehab#PedsICU#IllnessDoesntMeanStillness
Key take-home point that I try to impart to all who will listen:
#ICURehab and #EarlyMobility can't be protocolized in adult or #PedsICU. It's NOT walking every intubated patient. It's not black or white.
But we can work with a shared mental model of all the possibilities and create a workflow that ensures we are doing the most possible for #EveryPatientEveryDay grounded in their individual needs.

Surely if you read this list you will realize that many of the perceived barriers are the same in different units. And dealing with this is part of changing the culture of our units. @sapnakmd#ICURehab#PedsICU

Long-term affects delirium, psychological impact... but what about pain? A significant number of children continue to have frequent pain even 2 years after discharge. Pain needs to be treated as part of PICSp.

Patient and family interview: Thank you so much Brenda, Steve and little Beckett. This time we are together virtually, so I leave here the cheers and thanks from the audience at our last in-person conference in 2019. #ICURehab#PedsICU
My favorite part of the conference is the interviews with patients and their families. It's always amazing to hear from families about their perspective on the ICU stay, what the challenges, and understanding how we can improve our work every day. #ICURehab#PedsICU
In Portuguese, the term "early" in early mobilization was translated as "precocious" and gives us the mistaken idea of "too early", so here is my statement. It is never too early to deliver what each patient needs according to their own clinical status. #ICURehab#PedsICU
