Women have been fighting for justice long before feminism had a name
In 1929, thousands of Igbo women in Nigeria led the Aba Women’s Riot (also called the Women’s War) to protest against British colonial rule and unfair taxation.
‘Mental stability test’ and it’s because a woman said she was sexually harassed. The man that faked unconsciousness when he was questioned on misused funds in 2020, no call for mental test. The one that used mace to break someone’s skull in 2013, no test. This is very scary.
What Senator Natasha is experiencing after speaking out about harassment is a stark reflection of the decay in Nigerian society and a testament to how victims are treated and vilified when they speak up.
The senate doesn’t even have the power to suspend a senator.
