Erythroid cells were long considered passive oxygen carriers. This review highlights how they actively shape immunity — suppressing responses in neonates, supporting feto-maternal tolerance, contributing to immune evasion in cancer, and modulating responses in infections.
We are pleased to share that our review on CD71⁺ erythroid cells is now published in Nature Reviews Immunology; the highest standard for review articles in our field.

Worst feeling ever is having to miss those late night study sessions with the homies just cause your tiny backpack made you choose between your lunch and your laptop charger
‘AI is coming for your jobs’ I’d like to see AI draft a couple of tweets for his backpack company and then sit down to work on his PhD dissertation on a bacteria that spits oxygen
You haven't seen complexity in art until you've seen this 600-year-old painting.
It's so detailed that modern medicine has been able to diagnose this man's exact type of blindness.
And that's where things get mind-bendingly strange — this whole thing is an illusion... 🧵
@Edd_Shim@_buildspace@_nightsweekends Good point, I’ll update it thank you!
About the topics, I gotta build some foundation on how biotech companies generate revenue/their business model. Once that’s done, we’ll get to the nitty gritty parts, of which I’m really excited about viruses!
Here's the 5-hour Israel-Palestine debate with Norman Finkelstein, Benny Morris, Mouin Rabbani, and Steven Bonnell (aka Destiny). It was an in-depth, passionate exploration of history, present, and future of Israel and Palestine.
First 4 hours are posted here (current X limit), and full 5 hours are up on YouTube, Spotify, and everywhere else. Links in comment.
Thanks to Benny Morris, @NormFinkelstein, @TheOmniLiberal, and @MouinRabbani for the conversation!

"The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself." - Friedrich Nietzsche
“….Losing my head about someone I didn't really love and hurting someone I did. Why is one so stupid?” “The heart has its reasons,” said Will, “and the endocrines have theirs.”
-Island by Aldous Huxley
“So it's not idiocy. It must be something voluntary, something self-induced-like getting drunk or talking yourself into believing some piece of foolishness because it happens to be in the Scriptures.”
- Island by Aldous Huxley
