The album came out when I was in 10th grade? But man if it hasn’t evolved with me and taken on new meanings in my 20s.
Maybe it’s just my own past trauma, which I’ve spent years of my adult like working through- but there is something extremely dangerous when we teach kids from a young age that men in the Church are in some way superior and should always be trusted and never questioned.

I say all this to say that we HOPE the appointed leaders in our churches are truthworthy and live Holy lives, and I’m sure that most do. And if they aren’t, they live in the repentance and grace that’s open to all of us.
But at one point are we showing kids that their own thoughts, feelings, morals are not good enough and they must “follow” what someone else says. This can lead them into dangerous situations.
