Just stick to comedy shows and save yourself the stress. Forget these musicians. You sit, laugh with your guys, drink, eat and most importantly, Bovi won’t keep you waiting for hours. Come over to the bright side my people
@Dontee___ Yeah thanks. That's why I said that, as we work on our craft. there are comedians doing dope shows. Please follow @abillionlaughs , attend our comedy clubs, JJC with SLK, Laughter Cave and you will surely be getting informed about these shows.
It takes guts to face a live audience, read the room, and deliver punchlines that land every time. Skitmakers, we see you too, but there’s nothing like the thrill of live laughter!
In Nigeria, we underestimate the impact audience participation has on the success of a show/performance. We need good orientation on show attitude.
Most especially for comedy. People like to compare Nigerian comedians to Trevor Noah like "why can't Nigerian comedians perform like this" but are you behaving like Trevor Noah's audience?
Come early
Come to listen
Don't distract yourself and others
Put your phones away (in other climes the lock your phone up in a device before you get into the venue)
Participate!
I also need my colleagues to help with this.
Stop asking people to support your show by attending. Don't over estimate your fanbase. Let them come because they love what you do. Keep the acts to the minimum. The show shouldn't be more than 2hrs 30 minutes. Arrange the show well, let the first row be very close to the stage. Don't use tables. Darken the audience to limit distraction. Above all, work on your act, never do your show without having what to say. Give them a great show!!!!
@sogoajayeoba That's not a comedy show bro...it's more like a party or event. There are solid stand up comedy shows/clubs in Lagos that you would love. There's Laughter Cave on Tuesdays, there's JJC with SLK on Wednesdays....the every now and then @abillionlaughs does shows too.
