@SirJarus I agree with your dad too.
They don’t get O&G job this way.
Are you saying that those people they have been taking you to meet don’t know any young person personally they can give the job.
Likely a fraud.
@SirJarus My oga, I wouldn’t mind getting Elon money. Do I have to pay for blue tick to begin?
I have takes I can share here, but I may just cry if X people yab me one day🤣
@SirJarus My question is what are you doing now and how confident are you in your ability to join the Big 4 or any other places that interest you?
What are your goals?
@SirJarus We were about 23 that joined as GT and about 15 are abroad today in good employment.
The ones in Naija are not doing badly (Managers at KPMG, TGI etc).
I still spent some days with one of them abroad 2 weeks ago when I travelled to Europe.
@SirJarus It sounds like a lot, but it isn’t.
If ur current role has strong prospects, u shouldn’t move for $4k. U should negotiate at least $6k so you can still save ~$2.5k monthly if you spend wisely.
Hard to give a firm recommendation without knowing more about your situation though.
@SirJarus I say this as someone with ~7 years post-NYSC experience like you.
I was a Senior Associate 3 years ago and the firm I was working with pays SA about the same amount you quoted now. I later moved to government, and recently a firm in Abu Dhabi reached out to me on LinkedIn
@SirJarus with an $8k/month offer + bonus, relocation, education allowance and annual flights.
Out of curiosity, I did a labor market analysis of Abu Dhabi and the wider Middle East. Realistically, about $4k/month is what a single person needs to live comfortably there.
@SirJarus Pls be interested. HoR is a fair minimum.
I want to see more people exit private professional life and join public life.
I know quite a number of people who may do well in public offices, but consider politics dirty or because we don’t run politics of idea yet, but of money.
Not like I am stopping anyone from traveling to the Moon,
But ensure no one comes back with a disease, virus or bacteria that will be a problem to us on Earth. We are still looking for solutions to the ones here, please
Going to school is one thing; getting educated and educating yourself is another. Those who went to school and still insisted that "school na scam" by now should know where they all fall.
I am a product of 9-5
I am a product of academic excellence
Go to school, strive to make good grade, develop yourself in other areas, associate with positive people, ignore naysayers, and see your life change.
There are still good jobs out there for those who are competitive.
You may not turn out to be a billionaire, but you are almost guaranteed decent life. And some will even become billionaires (at least in Naira).
I will continue to be a big advocate of this route to decent life even after quitting 9-5 myself.
I have preached this message online for at least 17 years.
I’m not gonna stop as long as I live
It’s a lifetime commitment to continue to preach this message
Congrats once again to the Seplat intakes.
When NNPC result also comes out (in a couple of months?), I’m sure similar testimonies will trend.
By now, companies should start having “Jarus Alumni” group🤣

@felix_olaosegba@SirJarus You have a chance with a touch of Economics. President Akinwunmi Adesina of the AfDB studied Agric Economics.
So you can be the first Agric Economics guy to lead the CBN.
All the best.
@SirJarus First degree with a 2.1 is enough to break into these organizations. Advanced degree or professional certificate is only an added advantage.
During your NYSC, get GMAT or GRE materials and study it to have a good chance at passing entry level aptitude tests.
