@lamidex2 "In essence, while the crude-for-naira policy is conceptually sound and strategically significant, its benefits are inherently long-term and systemic, not immediate or superficial."
– I think that was the main point of the policy i.e. reduce the pressure on FX over time.
It is a tragic irony that many of those loudly romanticizing military rule today were not even born to witness its suffocating grip. They lack the lived, first-hand experience of fear, silence, and repression that defined that era.
Worse still, a good number of those amplifying this narrative are merchants of distortion, peddlers of half-truths and outright falsehoods, willing to weaponize misinformation just to advance a shallow, ill-informed argument. Democracy may be imperfect, but it at least gives you the voice they are now abusing so recklessly.

In Dec 2024, ₦231.4m was paid to Hard Harts Construction Ltd for the Construction of Rural Farm roads in Abiakpo–Ikot Essien Ikono Road, Abak LGA, Akwa Ibom state.
We tracked and report that this project has not been done. Residents confirmed that they were unaware of any government intervention for the road talk less a disbursement.
The road is still in a very poor condition with multiple waterlogged sections, no drainage systems causing severe flooding during rainfall and it has been this way for over a decade.
We call on NIGERIA STORED PRODUCTS RESEARCH, ILORIN, the implementing agency to provide the public with details of how funds disbursed to this project was used.

Destiny Gibson died yesterday after weeks in coma at the hospital. She is one of the victims of military’s deadly use of excessive force during women’s peaceful protest over the lingering communal conflict between Bachama and Chobo ethnic groups at Lamurde LGA Adamawa state on 8 December 2025.
Destiny was busy working at her restaurant when bullets hit her.
In an utter disregard for the sanctity of lives and accountability, the military issued denials, despite overwhelming evidence.
Eight women died instantly on 8 December 2025, and more died later. Those injured were shot in different parts of the body head, neck, back, chest, shoulder, legs, arms and some suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
What happened in Lamurde, once again, shows that whenever Nigerian security forces intervene in communal clashes, they often use excessive force, causing further deaths and destruction.
The Nigerian authorities’ failure to properly investigate these human rights violations undermines rule of law and people’s confidence in public institutions.
Rest in Peace, Mr Segun Awolowo.
He once found out about BudgIT document focused expanding exports across states. He loved it and we had a long conversation on prospects of states as economic engines.
He was very patriotic Nigerian who sought the good of our country.
Today we remember Pelumi Onifade — a reporter who was extrajudicially killed in Lagos in October 2020 while covering the #EndSARS Protests. Pelumi was shot dead by policemen who raided Abattoir area of Lagos where he had gone to interview some traders whose shops were vandalized.
Today we remember the heroes of #EndSARS — the brave Nigerians who stood against police brutality and paid the ultimate price for justice and freedom.
Their voices still echo. Their courage still inspires.
We will never forget. 💚🇳🇬

KILLINGS IN BENUE: SEADOGS CALL ON FG TO END CYCLE OF BLOODSHED
We strongly condemn not only the heinous acts of violence committed against innocent villagers but also the lukewarm response of the authorities whose duty it is to protect lives and property. We demand leadership, not platitudes. We demand accountability, not blame games. We demand action, not condolence letters.

🗣️🗣️ Dear Public Office Holders,
Relax, nobody asked for your kidney. Just receipts for the #budget you signed off on!
So stop catching feelings when citizens do their job by holding you accountable.
This is a democracy. You were elected. Citizens have every right to #AskQuestions and demand accountability.

But seriously, Nigerians, not all your problems are caused by the Federal Government!
E shock you? 🤔 Quick one, in December 2024👇
📌Port Harcourt in Rivers got N1.06 billion.
📌Gwagwalada in FCT got N1.1 billion
📌Ikorodu in Lagos got N1.8 billion
And you still think all your problems are from the Oga at the top?
See, some issues are the responsibility of your Local Government Chairman. But if you don’t check https://t.co/GBt07P6uD8, you won't know; if you don’t know, how will you #AskQuestions?
Oya, ask your LG Chairman where the money went!
Your cheap shots-calling people “Ronus,” “Obidiots,” “BATist,” “skull miners,” and the like-aren’t edgy commentary; they’re toxic slurs fueling a vicious cycle of tribal hatred and resentment. Every time you hurl these insults for political gain, you’re not just dividing communities-you’re planting bitter seeds that will poison future generations. Wake the fuck up: no tribe exists in isolation, and our fates are inextricably linked. Your petty, divisive antics serve only to erode our collective strength. Stop your political shenanigans, dump the hate, and start building bridges—because this cesspool of tribalism is drowning us all.
Did you know your Local Government controls the things that affect you daily—roads, schools, healthcare & more? 🤔
Watch this & see why YOU must engage your LGA!
