Sometime from now we will wonder, in retrospect, how did the state abduct Imran Khan and managed to keep him in total isolation with not a single image or mention of him allowed on media for over 2 years. And how swiftly did the people normalized it adjusting to this new 'reality'?
This is neither politics, nor a 'new reality', and must be condemned, protested and de-normalized every single day.
They mocked the one who begged us to plant trees, who started the Billion Tree Tsunami. Tonight, many sleep in fear of a cloudburst & climate change. May Allah protect us, and save Pakistan from the ignorant, selfish and illiterates.
Sorry, no AI can capture or represent the scenes we are witnessing today from Karachi to Lahore, Rawalpindi to Abbottabad. Some realities go beyond even imaginations
Independence isn’t proved by holidays and parades. If we were truly free, Bajaur wouldn’t be bleeding, IK wouldn’t be in jail, thousands of political workers wouldn’t be sentenced illegally, no one would disappear for speaking out, and our votes would have actually mattered.
What kind of Independence Day is that when the greatest son of soil & a real patriot is kept illegally behind the bars for over one year now.
He could've spent his life like a king but he's suffering everything for the sake of us.
14 August was NEVER about the military. We didn’t gain independence as a result of a military struggle - it was purely political. Pakistan Army had absolutely nothing to do with it. Nor does it have anything to do with 23 March, that was also political. The more space we give them to take over our national holidays, the faster we lose our culture.
