2 June 2021 marks one year since #BlackoutTuesday. Millions pledged to support the Black Lives Matter movement. We have not forgotten those pledges, and we will be asking arts companies what tangible changes they've made in the past year.
@ablackbot Hey Blackbot – thanks for reaching out and continuing your investment in such important labour. Our pledge outlined in June 2020 is responsive and we continue to refine. Over the last year we have focussed our work on supporting our local and vulnerable communities, (continued)
@ablackbot Beyond our original statement we have been working in dedicated cross-organisational staff teams and with our Trustees to ensure a series of measurable actions to evidence our words and challenge us to keep doing better. [These will be published shortly]

@ablackbot Hi thanks for reaching out and for this invitation to hold ourselves and the wider sector accountable. We are working on a thorough update of specific anti-racist action, which we will be publishing this summer, including our commitments, progress made to date, and future plans.
@ablackbot Thanks for getting in touch. Since releasing the initial statement on the 1st June 2020 we have continued to meet with staff, trustees, artists, and external stakeholders in order to connect and push forward with our plans. Updated statement: https://t.co/zIKb04uXKR
@ablackbot Thanks for getting in touch. Our Diversity & Inclusion Statement and Action Plan is available to download from the SLG website: https://t.co/eOXZnHSiLJ
Our plan is an evolving one which we will add to and adapt as a result of learning along the way.
@ablackbot We reflected on a year since George Floyd's passing and the changes we have made within our organisation to renew our commitment to racial equality on our blog here: https://t.co/2mcwuCp1IJ
We are not interested in shaming anyone, we're interested in accountability. Todays check ins were a reminder of the challenge you set yourself on #BlackoutTuesday to make change. If you've fallen short of your own expectations, we encourage you to start again today.
We are anonymous because we have to be, because these challenges by individuals are often met with serious repercussions.
That doesn't mean our questions are not valid, and sneering at our anonymity won't make you feel better if you have work to do.
To all of the companies who have responded with your progress - thank you for your commitment and your leadership. We have retweeted you so that other companies can follow your lead.
If any of our tweets made you uncomfortable, you're welcome! That means you realise you have work to do.
We invite you to become accountable, to commit to acting upon your words, and to making real change.
@ablackbot Last summer we made a number of pledges that would enable us to champion anti-racism and use our platforms to bring about change. You can find an update on the progress we've made on those pledges and a summary of our forthcoming plans on our website: https://t.co/tDKMjNpCa9
