@StormCenter7 you should just tell us it’s going to rain everyday, then you’ll be correct in your forecast sometimes. I am fairly certain this morning, it was supposed to be partly cloudy and warm today. Fog, Rain, thunderstorms.
@pokateo_@GISLounge ArcGIS4Life!!!, but I know things are changing. It’s the same with our surveyors, they certify our docs using CAD, they input a boundary survey using CAD. Our county surveyors use cad for input and plotting. GIS has a long way to go, that is why it will remain exciting.
@pokateo_@GISLounge Lots of things to consider. Templates in Arc help. I’ve always struggled with why do we do it in CAD, if it’s an arc deliverable. I think the answer is, legacy, our engineers and surveyors are old and they want to draft in CAD. We are watching that change before our eyes
@Thierry_G Problem solving skills and a geospatial mind is what I search for. Things break, updates happen, platforms change. Fundamentals are key and a “figure it out” mindset is more important to me then anything
@pokateo_@GISLounge I’ll just say I’ve been involved in GIS (arcInfo) and watching CAD to GIS conversion since 1999. It is still a challenge. We always are looking for people that understand that translation. Folks still think you can’t COGO in arc
