Seniors built Alberta's communities. Alberta Municipalities has seven active resolutions that relate to seniors. Among them, we have resolutions on emergency shelters, home care support in lodges, protection for vulnerable tenants, and access to mental health supports
ABmunis is committed to helping our seniors age in their chosen communities. That's why we are committed to advocating for increased FCSS funding.

@AB_mcmc@BizCouncilAB We are always happy to support Albertans' efforts to build thriving communities. ABmunis was founded on the idea of bringing community leaders together to share ideas, information, and solutions, so we were delighted to be able to support this event!
ABmunis congratulates Dan Williams on his appointment to Minister of Municipal Affairs! Our association looks forward to working collaboratively with Min. Williams & his ministry to tackle the numerous challenges municipalities face in building strong communities.
ABmunis supports @AB_Enviro's efforts to to prevent invasive species from entering our waterways. We encourage everyone to do the right thing to protect our precious environment.
May is National Invasive Species Action Month and Alberta’s government will continue working hard to prevent the growing threat of zebra mussels, quagga mussels and other invasive species.
Alberta Municipalities collaborated with the Rural Municipalities of Alberta and Alberta Association of Community Peace Officers (@_aacpo) to advocate for presumed PTSD coverage for Community Peace Officers (CPOs) in Alberta.
CPOs face risks and psychological trauma in their roles. However, when seeking Worker’s Compensation Board (WCB) support, their PTSD is not presumed to be work-related because they’re not considered first responders in legislation. This hinders their access to support.
Both, ABmunis and @RuralMA have ongoing resolutions on this topic. Learn more about it here: https://t.co/7ZKyWQR0D3

@North_Resists This will likely require a personal response via phone or email to ensure protection of your personal information. Follow up email issued this morning. If that hasn’t helped, would you mind contacting us via email or phone?
ABmunis member-municipalities adopted a resolution in 2023 to advocate for @YourAlberta to give Community Peace Officers (CPOs) suffering PTSD the same @WCBAlberta coverage as other police officers. Why? Because 50% of public safety officers have some form of mental health concern. CPOs deserve the same supports for the same issues. @RuralMA@_aacpo
