all goodness is a goodness in a way (...) if he tells us, "no, no, I meant that it is just plain a good thing," then we can at best suppose he is a philosopher making a joke. (thomson, 1997)
hangi teoriyi ortaya atarsam atayım teorimdeki bağlı değişkenlerin değerlerine ontolojik olarak commit etmem gerektiğini öğrendiğimde 19 yaşındaydım...
"'a machine can't have toothache'. all i will do now is to draw your attention to the use which you have made of the word 'can' and ask you: 'did you mean to say that all our past experience has shown a machine never had toothache?'" (wittgenstein, the blue book)
consciousness is a relation to being, but it is other than being. arising out of being in itself through a process of self-diremption in being it makes beings to appear.
because one cannot be understood as withholding a commitment that one cannot undertake, Sellars concludes that one cannot have the ability to say or think how things seem or appear unless one also has the ability to make claims about how things actually are. (BSD, Brandom, p. 12)
