✝️Christianity opposes infant circumcision
📉USA rate of newborn circumcision is now 49%
🌎70% men worldwide have natural pen*s with foreskin and are not cut
The foreskin is considered more likely to cause disease and STDs because it is made of mucosa.
The clitoris in women is ALSO made of mucosa, so by this same logic, all uncircumcised women are more likely to cause infection or STDs.
@TwoTaxes@adkisojk@RyanShuck5@incelchan The original post says they felt bad for everyone with a circumcised penis, and you proceeded to berate the penis as being the most disgusting vile thing.
Nothing about your response indicated that it's not okay to be done to infants, because that's the most common circumcision
@ItsHappeningRN@DontTreadUpon@AF_Ghost Calling it a caterpillar goes to show you have been conditioned and carry the same negative attitudes about the penis like much of American culture
I personally never suffered from that mindset because I never thought it was something strange when I first started learning
@TwoTaxes@RyanShuck5@adkisojk@incelchan This does not bypass the right to informed consent of an unnecessary, permanent, body modification
Circumcision results in the drying and keratinization of the glans and results in greater friction and chances of discomfort in partners
@ItsHappeningRN@DontTreadUpon@AF_Ghost It's not that I didn't like it, they are outdated and debunked.
I don't fully blame you though, health organizations are not updating their wording and policies, so you, like others, are pulling from what should be trust worthy sources.
Your preference has been shaped
@TwoTaxes@RyanShuck5@incelchan Yes, males have hoodies. It's there to protect it. The same way eyes have eyelids.
Mucosal surfaces like the inside of your mouth are supposed to be shielded from the outside, and the penis happens to have mucosal surfaces
Women also have hoodies.
Hope this helps
@empatevic@incelchan Cultural conditioning.
Foreskin's absence through many generations made any issue with it over-exaggerated as a reason to continue removing it
Ear wax, teeth plaque, armpits, even women's discharge, are all natural accumulations/excretions. Foreskin gets singled out
@ItsHappeningRN@DontTreadUpon@AF_Ghost Feeding, holding, and cleaning are basic care necessities: they preserve a baby’s life, health, and hygiene because the baby can’t do them himself.
Circumcision is not comparable. Babies do not need healthy genital tissue cut off to be cared for.
@ItsHappeningRN@DontTreadUpon@AF_Ghost The "caterpillar" in question is something that retracts and keeps the penis properly moisturized and protected against friction and abrasion.
You are happy to have the equivalent of an eye without its eyelid.
Weird flex.
@ItsHappeningRN@DontTreadUpon@AF_Ghost According to whom?
The claim is not "there are medical reasons", but "there are medical reasons to circumcise rather than not",
which is refuted by medical professionals, including in the article you just read.
The rates are too low for non-consentual removal
@ItsHappeningRN@TinyFennecBae@DontTreadUpon@AF_Ghost The foreskin is completely healthy tissue.
Mouths have health concerns. Clitorises and vaginas have health concerns. None of those are seen as unhealthy, and yet they all have the same mucosal/environmental makeup as the foreskin.
Are uncircumcised clitorises unhealthy?
@ItsHappeningRN@JMIndependent@DontTreadUpon@AF_Ghost About 65% of all men worldwide have natural foreskinned penis (2+ billion), and would be 90%+ without religion.
The few thousands electing do not compare to the millions who are NOT electing and get cut anyway, never learning about the skin, and being conditioned to hate it.
@ItsHappeningRN@DontTreadUpon@AF_Ghost This is such an ironic statement, because thousands of years of evolution has resulted in the development of the foreskin in the first place.
Medical science is only as good as its willingness to update to better evidence and standards, which circumcision literature has not done
