The 90s/00s Japanese dramas are fulfilling mostly everything that modern Asian dramas across the board are not doing for me right now. They are a comfort watch…it’s like receiving a warm hug.
Not one drama has ever made me so emotional till now. Forget Me Not would be just another sad drama for me if it didn’t hit so close to home. It came out at such an appropriate time. This director also directed & was the screenwriter for Us & Them, which makes so much sense.
Out of curiosity, I looked at who the director was after finishing One Day Off, and it’s Lee Jong Pil. He acted in The Man from Nowhere with Won Bin. And now has worked with Lee Na Young.
When watching the first episodes of First Love, and seeing Hikari Mitsushima, I kept being reminded of the dancer in this song. Only to realize it was her, and she’s the singer too 😆:

Finished Night Wanderer, the novel. Since the drama won’t probably see the light of day, I was still so curious about the story, and it was a good read! So thankful to the translators 🥹
Loved all the acting in Little Women, but big shoutout to Kim Go Eun. Wow. She brought me back to when I initially became a fan after watching Coin Locker Girl.
Babi was a snoozefest. But one thing I particularly enjoyed about S2 was Yumi’s journey in following her writing passion. It was really encouraging, as this has been an idea of interest for me these days. That is, turning a hobby/passion into a career.
