At episode 12, the drama had me asking more questions than the writers were willing to answer.

At first it was time travel. Then reincarnation. Then soul swapping. Pick a lane 😭

How did Shin Seo-ri become a concubine? Never explained.

Why did Cha Se-gye keep dreaming about his past life? Never explained.

And if Shin Seo-ri and Dan-shim are supposedly two different people, then where exactly is Dan-shim? Because the drama never answered that either.

The fantasy rules changed every few episodes and by the end I felt like the writers were making them up as they went along.

The only reason we all stayed seated was Cha Se-gye. That man was the definition of a simp, a green flag, and an obsessed lover. If not for him carrying the romance on his back, this drama might have completely lost his plot eveb tho they lost it in many ways 🤧

Enjoyable chemistry, confusing mythology, too many unanswered questions.

Rating: 7/10.

A lighthearted, introspective show where romance and comedy beautifully complement each other. When depth and nuance are layered in, the enjoyment is amplified tenfold. Highly recommend The Ramparts of Ice for a heartfelt look into navigation of complex feelings and emotions.
