I think one of the reasons Sold Out on You started dipping in ratings is because the drama and the promos were selling two completely different experiences 😭
People went in expecting this fast paced addictive romcom with insane chemistry and big moments especially with the cast attached to it. Personally I was expecting something closer to Hometown Cha Cha Cha or Welcome to Samdal-ri 😭 but the drama itself is way quieter and slower.
Not even slow in a bad way, it’s more healing slice of life than addictive romcom, but I feel like if you’re not patient with that kind of storytelling you’ll probably lose interest after like 2 episodes.
And the pacing honestly doesn’t help for weekly watching because it keeps feeling like something bigger is about to happen then the episode just ends.
The drama is not bad at all though. It just doesn’t have that “I need next week’s episode immediately” feeling that usually keeps ratings climbing every week.
I feel like this is the kind of drama people will appreciate more after it finishes because binge watching it will probably feel way better than waiting weekly for episodes.
