GDP per capita 1965
Singapore: £185
UK: £680
GDP per capita 2025
Singapore: £78,000
UK: £40,600
How did this happen? How did a country that started with barely a quarter of the UK’s wealth become almost twice as rich?
Competent governance.
A government that invested in what people needed: housing, energy, and education, all boosting productivity. Not one that sat idly by as living standards became harder and harder to maintain.
But there is hope. There is a party with the iron in it to do what is necessary.

Syria (Aleppo) in the 1950s, when 40% of the population was Christian. Today, it is less than 1%. This is the case for all the Middle East under Islam. Funny how no one cares about this real genocide.
Ayaan Hirsi Ali, the famous Somali who rejected Islam, on REMIGRATION.
"Remigration is, if anything, the MOST humane response. It should be pursued as swiftly as possible."
It's "the peaceful option."
So many non-whites see what so many whites refuse to see.
Today marks the anniversary of the arrival of the Empire Windrush at Tilbury in 1948.
Today the media will fawn over the familiar story that Britain called, the Windrush generation answered, and came to rebuild the country.
The historical record tells a different story.
The passengers on the Windrush were not specially invited by the British government to come and rebuild Britain, and they certainly weren't invited by the native British people. The ship had spare berths, tickets were advertised in Jamaica, and people purchased passage because they believed they would have better opportunities in Britain.
Even the Labour government of the day was not enthusiastic about large-scale migration from the Caribbean and sought ways to discourage further arrivals.
The idea that Britain was rebuilt by the Windrush generation is equally misleading and an example of anti British propaganda from our captured media, education and political system. In 1948 Britain already possessed its industries, railways, ports, armed forces, legal system, Parliament, universities and centuries-old institutions. The rebuilding of wartime bomb damage was already well underway and the numbers arriving on the Windrush were tiny compared to Britain's population and workforce.
The slogan "You called and we came" is not history. It is a modern political myth invited by lefties with an agenda.
Britain did not begin in 1948. Our story did not start at Tilbury with the Empire Windrush. It stretches back through the world wars, the Industrial Revolution, the Tudors, the Plantagenets, the Anglo-Saxons and beyond.
An ancient nation should not be taught to forget its own history.

@asam_akhtar@ThePosieParker Tell us Sam- what percentage of the population were immigrants in 1960? just so we can see in statistics how huge the numbers of migrants were who rebuilt our country.
@GraemeHampton@ThePosieParker The English have been a largely settled people for over a millennium with very small levels of migration until very recently.
How can anyone think it's right that 48% of social housing in London, England is occupied by foreign nationals. It's absolutely outrageous how badly British people have been treated.
Should phone shops, vape shops, and corner shops be able to sponsor “highly skilled” visas?
Thousands of these businesses across the country are bringing low skilled workers to Britain, on routes intended for people who are highly skilled.
It's a total joke.
