In 2016, the Johannesburg High Court confirmed that Bongani Nkala and 68 others could represent all silicosis victims in a class action.

The majority of gold mines then settled with the victims in 2019.

DRDGold and East Rand Pty Ltd appealed.

Today, that appeal failed 💪
