That $5 shirt? It doesn’t just disappear when you’re done with it. Most fast fashion ends up in landfills or on another country’s shores, polluting communities far from where it was bought. Fashion shouldn’t cost the earth. https://t.co/5txrxPOVNJ
BREAKING NEWS:
Republican Senator Jerry Moran of Kansas has split with his party to admonish the reckless and illegal shutdown on USAID:
Moran says the aggressive change at the USAID office shut down left $340 million in lifesaving food grown in the United States sitting at domestic ports, waiting to be delivered to various destinations where people are STARVING.
"Time is running out before this lifesaving aid perishes," Moran said. "Food stability is essential to political stability, and our food aid programs help feed the hungry, bolster our national security and provide an important market for our farmers, especially when commodity prices are low."
This is not a democratic vs. republican issue. This is a humanitarian issue!
Thank you Senator Moran for speaking out!
I need every American to stop & process the fact that Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, Donald Trump, & House Republicans are perfectly fine with slashing $190 million in cancer research funding in this bill. This is who they are. Pay attention & be concerned. It will only get worse.
@BidensWins You did great Biden, hang in there! Democracy is too important for you to drop out and not even give the Democrat voters a chance to chose their candidate by letting some folks at a convention decide your replacement.
BREAKING: CNN just released their fact check of Donald Trump throughout the debate. It turns out Donald Trump lied on just about every answer. Retweet so all Americans see this vital fact check on Trump’s BS.
@ElizKolbert It’s the data centers and cyber trucks—justifying exorbitant energy demand with their “green-ness” instead of letting green energy REPLACE essential dirty sources!
There are two factors in emissions : how much carbon-free energy is generated and how much total energy is used. Unless the first grows by more than the second, you get increasing CO2. Which is what's happening: https://t.co/rPkQkC8q6K
@ElizKolbert From what I can tell, it seems like green renewable energy doesn't replace fossil fuels (not globally anyway); it just adds more total energy that's available (globally) and the global population uses it for more consumption & growth, which ends up in more demand long term.
