Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollns on beef prices: "If it's too expensive, you can eat chicken, pork, salmon, eggs — there are other sources of really good protein."
There’s not. The system collapse is not a leftist theory; it’s an objective fact that both capitalism & imperialism have physical limits
The collapse is due to the fact that infinite growth and extraction is physically impossible
I've decided that I'm just going to put the question mark outside of the quotation marks when it's not part of the quote. The rule is wrong, and I'm just not going to do it.
stress—i've had it since i was a kid cause my parents been stressing me out like a mfer from a young age. they got divorced when i was 7 and wow those early years were rough.
my favorite cookbook does have some blurbs but i'd forgive marcella hazan anything but they're not really "here's my anecdote about my trip to italy and my fling with florio" so much as here's why we do this recipe this way—like historical anecdotes if you will
You just won a 2-week, all-expenses-paid vacation to Florida. But there’s a catch: you have to stay within one region the whole time. What are you picking?
Dermatology is wasting your tax dollars and making it harder to get skin disease and skin cancer treated.
How?
By requiring residents to learn how to not be doctors.
Doing botox for wrinkles isn't being a doctor.
Neither is doing filler for full lips or laser for dark spots.
I'm a dermatologist, and I've been saying it for years.
When I ran a residency, I tried to keep it out of the curriculum.
If dermatologists want to do it, have at it. It's a free country.
But we shouldn't be pushing residents towards it, especially not with tax dollars.
Medicine treats or prevents disease.
A normal-looking person who wants to look better than normal doesn't have a disease.
Nothing to treat. Nothing to prevent.
Does it improve quality of life? Yes.
Is it hard? Yes.
Does it take real skill? Absolutely.
Are there real risks? Definitely.
But every bit of that is also true of tattoos.
And nobody is adding tattoos to the curriculum.
Nothing wrong with wanting it.
Nothing wrong with being great at it.
But don't confuse it with being a doctor.
And if you want to do it, learn it on your own dime and your own time.
Not on Medicare's.
as a mainer i'd devour this entire tub and then complain there wasn't enough lobster chunks in it—this is just cold lobster bisque which sounds delicious
my favorite part about it is how quiet it is so people will really be caught unaware—🗣️ I SAID MY FAVORITE PART ABOUT IT IS HOW QUIET IT IS SO PEOPLE WILL REALLY BE CAUGHT UNAWARE
Northwestern engineers built a drone that spins its own body 25 times a second to disappear mid-flight.
It's called Phantom Twist.
No paint. No clear plastic shell. No camouflage.
Most of the frame rotates. 25 turns per second. 1,500 per minute. A full turn every 40 milliseconds.
The propeller spins the other way.
That's the trick. The counter-rotation cancels the spin, and the aircraft holds steady while its body turns into a smear.
The eye tracks a bird. It tracks a normal quadcopter.
It can't lock onto a shape that redraws itself 25 times a second.
You see motion. You see blur. You never see the outline.
Every camouflage in history tried to match the background.
This one just refuses to hold still.
