@JoshuaFluke I found this company called Acuitus Inc, they say they help primarily veterans and regular civilians to get jobs in IT after 5 months. Apparently they're backed by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. What do you think of them? Scam or not?
The lesson at the end of the day, is to get your education from reputable sources, have confidence in yourself, and use common sense.
Because there's alot of people out there with no soul or ethics, or anything. Who want to take from you.
I wish I could just talk to some of these big-time influencers, get them a beer, because after all, they don’t want to spend any of their, “hard-earned money,” and I want to ask them bluntly, “how does it feel to be a snake oil salesman?” What does your family think of you?
“Why watch programming videos for free on YouTube when I can recommend you to this PAID service? Oh you don’t want to pay the small asking price? I guess you don’t want to have an advantage over the others.” No, it’s all about filling your pockets. Everything is fake smiles.
You’re a dollar sign, a stupid sheep, one of the masses who needs “help.” After all, these people who are so brave to get in front of a camera are here to “help you.” You just need to pay for it, because that’s only fair.
Seriously, go take a second to look at what you see online, and just count how many times someone is selling to you, or preying on your insecurities. They’ll always phrase it in a way for you to click, because that’s all you are to these people.
So do you see everyone? You don’t need a bachelor’s of computer science to get a job in tech! Because this person with a higher degree in computer science said so.
I love how so many tech YouTubers sell you about how the average Joe can get a job without a degree. One YouTuber, a data scientist, made a video on how she got a job in tech, without a CS bach degree, but in the video she explains how she got it with a MASTERS DEGREE IN CS.
Whenever I watch fitness videos, people talk about the most "optimal" training schedule, as if you need to cram your whole day of calorie burning into an hour time frame because apparently you're gonna be bed ridden for the next 23hrs.
Even before writing this I got ads about “toxic poop.” That’s an oxymoron, and the person selling to you, is a moron. It’s this guy with a beard and beanie telling you about how you need to buy his laxatives, and only HIS laxatives keep you healthy.
I don’t want to call them influencers or content creators. They’re just scum, who have turned themselves into an Ad. How many YouTubers have advertised: Raid Shadow Legends, AFK Arena, Audible, SkillShare, Algo Expert, or a subscription, that just made you $129 poorer per year?
“Buy this thing I’m selling because you can trust me. If you don’t, I guess someone else will be better off.” They’ll never say it like that. They all hide behind fake smiles. Not many people in the world are transparently evil. But these are, “Ad people.”
I never gave much thought to that one South Park episode where the crippled kid, Jimmy, was dating a girl who was a living breathing ad. But I get it now. People are always selling to you, and if they aren’t, they’re preying on your insecurities.
I really do blame the internet, because everyone has sold their soul, ethics, and common sense to make money or at the very least clout. Everything on YouTube, or social media in general, is an advertisement.

And they’re selling you a swim app with a subscription membership. Can’t you just describe how to swim in like a 5 minute video? Head down, arms slightly bent, and don’t cross the center line. That’s all you needed to know!
I’ve seen every interest in my life affected by this phenomenon. Whether it be about: what stocks to buy, most optimal workout routine, the most optimal way to code. The one that made me snap, was a YouTube SERIES, as in more than one video, on how to swim efficiently!

Information paralysis, I don’t believe there is a medical term, but essentially, it’s when you’re overloaded with: information, choices, and conflicting opinions, that you don’t know what to believe in. So to be safe, you don’t do anything.
