@of_blackbird@KhakiRhue If that's how you want to play, that's fine, but nuzlokes exist as a different way to play that is more difficult. Plus, you grow a lot more attatched to what you get because of that difficulty.
@of_blackbird@KhakiRhue The fun of it is the challenge. It teats your game knowlege and also your ability to adapt to situations that you could not entirely predict or control. Very useful considering how easy pokemon is.
@of_blackbird@KhakiRhue At it's core: it's a self-imposed rule that states that you can only catch one pokemon per route, and that once a pokemon feints you must release it, with a black or white out meaning a total game restart. You can add a plethora of additional rules atop that, but that's the core.
@KhakiRhue@of_blackbird Depends on run. Sometimes I name them after historical figures, sometimes after pet names I've heard, other times I make up names based on the situation I found the pokemon in. The current run I'm doing is going with a "Knockoff Super Hero" naming scheme
@of_blackbird@KhakiRhue I do a lot of Nuzlockes, so, uh, sometimes I don't have a choice. Sometimes you just have to take on the Elite Four with what you can scrape together.
@ShadyLady158 It's the hidden stats that determines the random rolls of the stats of a pokemon, like EVs. IVs, however, cannot be changed by normal circumstances.
