Who thought it was a good idea to send a repeated emergency alert with an extremely loud siren after 1 AM?
Emergency alerts are important, but repeatedly waking people up at midnight with a blaring siren is just plain stupid.
Interesting logistics by IndiGo today.
6E6520 Delhi → Bhubaneswar
Boarding: 11:35 AM
But the aircraft arrives in Delhi 11:45 AM(scheduled time, not delayed) from Tirupati (6E6490).
So are we boarding the aircraft before it even lands? 🤔
PS: Of course it’s late.

🚨❤️🤍 FC Bayern have reached verbal agreement on structure, length of new deal and salary with Dayot Upamecano.
The final key point discussed is a future release clause and when to make it available for other clubs.

Morning musing;
WAR is not a TRP VIDEO GAME in a news studio .
JOURNALISM is NOT JINGOISM.
FICTION can’t play out as FACT.
BREAKING NEWS must not BREAK DOWN
SENSE must not give way to SENSATION.
SOCIAL MEDIA WARRIORS must go back to their BUNKERS.
Have a blissful and hopefully calm and peaceful Friday . Thoughts with villagers in border areas who are the ones truly suffering. And soldiers who put their lives on the line. May better sense prevail. 🙏
Just where did BJP get the database from to blast the Viksit Bharat mega spam? Do they think Modi is the Prime Minister for the entire solar system? 😳 It has gone to people in UAE, UK citizens in Dubai who haven't traveled to India, among others! What a shameful misuse of data.
Really keen to try and get someone at @ManUtd or @MU_Foundation to get this message to Kobbie, so any shares or retweets would be much appreciated. Sadly my Father (Vincent Killeen) lost his brave battle against cancer yesterday. The last game we watched together was the Wolves game, just the two of us in his hospital room. When Wolves equalised we were both so frustrated. I have never willed United to score more than that moment and then Kobbie Mainoo steps up with an amazing winner. Seeing Dads arm in the air, a smile on his face and declaring “that’s why you watch United”. When he saw that you were doing an interview, he insisted that I stay so he could listen. I know football should be about winning trophies, but you will never score a more important goal for our family Kobbie. You are already a hero in our household and you are now my 7 year olds favourite player. Thank you for a truly brilliant and special moment. I am sure your career will bring many of them.
The Killeen Family ❤️
To all the people from South India, come and open a shop in Connaught Place, New Delhi, and write the shop name in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, or Malayalam. Trust me, nobody will come to vandalize your property. We don't hate you, your language, or your culture.
When you come to our land, we don't force you to speak our language. But when we invest our money, skills in your land, making an effort to learn and understand your language and culture, we still get hate and terms like 'Hindi belt' and 'North Indian.'
It takes a lifetime to earn a living. Imagine someone one day coming to your home and vandalizing, making you feel that you don't belong to the land where you've given your blood and sweat.
We equally love Yash, Prabhas, Ram Charan, and Mohanlal. We never discriminate based on language or claim that a culture or language is being imposed on us. Let's coexist peacefully.
We are Indian, firstly and lastly :)
@aryan_kochhar Agee with most of the points being part of the generation where Facebook went from being relevant to irrelevant in the span of 10-12 years.
And obviously seeing the same path for Instagram as well.
But what about the vision of @elonmusk regarding @Twitter ? Isn’t it similar ?
In 2008, Facebook wanted to take over Twitter, but they refused
Zuck threatened to copy and destroy it if they don't sell
14 years out, young people have abandoned Facebook, while Twitter usage is at all-time high
Here's why Twitter won while FB lost its cultural relevance:
Facebook literally had it all:
All the features + every person on the planet joining it + had all your friends on it
But twitter was just a 140 character text site to interact with strangers.
Now, it’s weird to find someone who uses Facebook, but Twitter is highly relevant.
···
This happened because of 3 main cores of Twitter that we’ll discuss one by one:
👉🏼 Community building VS Community transfer
👉🏼 Simplicity & guarding the core proposition
👉🏼 Short-form text can stand the the test of time
···
First core:
Twitter started as a simple site to share information or “microblog”.
And Facebook was built to connect with people you already knew
Facebook made you bring your pre-built network (friends and family) on the platform.
Twitter breeds a new network on its platform.
···
Facebook at its core was meant as a platform to “connect”.
Twitter was meant to be a platform to share.
This is the basis for Twitter’s long survival and slow growth, while Facebook’s slow irrelevance.
Because there’s a limit to how much you can connect and talk with the same set of people.
There’s a limit to how much you feel like finding out what someone else is doing.
But there’s no limit to the amount of information that can be distributed and consumed.
···
Facebook restricted you to the people you already knew.
Twitter made it seamless to get in direct contact (where your reply is a tweet in itself) with new people.
Bored of interacting with the knowns on Facebook?
Twitter sends new bunch of people on your feed every time.
···
What led to the rise of Facebook. i.e. Network Effect, is also the reason for its decline.
Over network effect got in people’s parents and the older generation on it.
Because everyone is on Facebook, the younger folks don’t want to be there.
Even twitter has a good mix of older and younger audience, but since nobody knows each other properly, it's still a pretty good platform for youngsters.
···
This actually has made twitter a heaven for people who seek learning.
You can learn from the older wiser people here, while staying closer to your generation, all at the same time.
No other platform has been able to master this.
···
Snapchat is completely from youngsters to sext or something
Facebook is for the old
LinkedIn is for the professionals (closest in this sense to Twitter)
And Instagram is becoming another Facebook it's only a matter of time
···
Second core:
In the chase to give people more and more options companies often forget that humans dig simplicity.
Twitter didn’t try to do everything on one platform.
They were a simple text sharing platform, and they maintained that simplicity at the core of the product.
They did introduce a lot of things here and there, but the core value proposition of the product i.e. short form text content was well-guarded.
"In the world selling choices, the one selling focus wins."
···
As the consumption patterns changed, other platforms became forced to comply.
Facebook focused more on video.
Insta launched video, and now reels has made Insta abandon its core offering: photos.
In all this mess, Twitter stayed focused on its core.
···
Facebook was never meant to be “anyone can be a mass distributor/creator” platform.
The whole product was designed in a way that you had to open a page for building your own creator thing and that involved a lot of friction.
But on Twitter, anyone could tweet and create a following from the start.
The product is frictionless for you to breed your own community.
It is designed not to just make you broadcast something, but to spark conversations.
This creates a lot of layers of network effect.
···
Third core:
Twitter can even survive the attention deficit storm created by TikTok and Insta reels.
Because Twitter makes you a concise writer.
That restriction helps in quick consumption and that is the only way how text can beat video.
Plus text is extremely easy to produce.
Especially short form.
Extremely busy people who might need a light, a good camera and a setup for making reels or Youtube videos, can easily use twitter to share what’s on their mind.
Easy creation with easy consumption gives Twitter a chance against video.
···
Initially social media was a battle for how many humans can you gather on the platform.
Now, any social media product’s success isn’t only about gathering more people quickly, but about relevance.
Because once your relevance is gone, it will never be back.
