Most people in this space know me for my Web3 work, threads, poems and community building around projects like Arc. But there's another part of what I do that I'm equally passionate about. I'm a physiotherapist and on the 8th of September 2024 I founded the @PhysioAfric2024 together with three co-founders: Stella Kanyori from Kenya, Flora Chumi from Tanzania, and Youssef Hassan from Egypt.
What began as a small hub with just a handful of members has grown into something I'm really proud of. We now have dedicated people stepping into a range of important roles. We hold weekly webinars every Thursday, and we've built a research team led by Abdulrahman Liman Umar. Chijioke Otikpa heads Capacity Building, Aminat Abolade leads on Technology and AI integration, Dr Kumpash is head of media, and there are many others like Mesenja, Cynthia Oguegbu and more who contribute their time and skills to keep the hub moving forward.
We're also part of a series of virtual bootcamps across different areas of physiotherapy on the continent. Tanzania hosted the Neurology Physiotherapy Bootcamp in April 2026. Nigeria will host the Oncology Physiotherapy Bootcamp this July, and Kenya will host the Orthopedic one after that. I'll be presenting in the Nigeria bootcamp. On the 13th, I'll be giving the opening lecture on the topic: Introduction to Oncology Physiotherapy – Roles, Scope, and Impact on Cancer Care.
My interest in oncology physiotherapy grew because cancer prevalence has been rising across Africa while rehabilitation specialists in this area remain very few. In 2024 I received a scholarship from the Cancer Exercise Training Institute and qualified as a Cancer Exercise Specialist Advanced. They later honoured me by adding me to their Medical Advisory Board : https://t.co/KPMIi7yGK2
Specialisation pathways in physiotherapy are still quite limited, especially in oncology. I'm grateful to the @MRTBNigeria for the clinical pathway they're developing. A new specialisation area in Neoplasm and Palliative Care will soon be available, and I was privileged to be one of the few people involved in developing the curriculum for it.
The need is real. There are so many patients who could benefit from these services, yet so few specialists available to provide them. I truly hope this field continues to grow and attracts more passionate professionals.
We're planning to launch a mentorship program for students and early career physiotherapists across Africa. We'll be inviting some inspiring colleagues to support it, including @ballzy_physio@Ademola_Alesh@aminataboladept@amazingphysioc@Sogoxxv@ChijiokeOtikpa@mary_akinwola@M_Beelloo@ummumuneer20@MuhammadAuwalMK@abubakarakig@Ayoishmshee@omogiftotundara@FauziyaYusuf2 and others who are already doing excellent work in the profession.
Building this has been a journey of learning, collaboration and service. I'm truly grateful to the co-founders, every team member, and everyone who's supported the hub so far.

This is how to identify stolen vehicles through official channels before making purchase (part one)...
Before you pay, do these 3 verification steps:
Log onto the Nigeria Police Central Motor Registry (CMRIS) portal to request a vehicle status report. If the car has been officially reported stolen, it flags here and a contact inside the force helps speed up.
If the car has been registered in Nigeria before, the Federal Road Safety Corps has the data. Use the Chassis Number (VIN) & last owner's name to check. A contact in the FRSC can quickly pull the system backend to verify it's legit.
Forged customs papers are everywhere most of the time it doesn't match the vehicle you want to purchase. Take the Single Goods Declaration (SGD) form to the nearest Customs Federal Operations Unit (FOU). Check if the duty was genuinely paid and if the VIN matches their system. The best thing you can do is to have someone on the inside to fast track it within minutes.
Bottom line is always leverage trusted insiders to run these background checks before handing over your hard earned money.
