Commissioning of Katsina Model and Smart Schools
Yesterday marked a defining moment in our journey to transform education in Katsina State as we commissioned the Katsina Model and Smart Secondary School, Radda, one of the three newly established model secondary schools in Katsina, a project that brings to life a vision I conceived over three decades ago.
This institution represents far more than physical infrastructure. It is a deliberate investment in our children, designed to equip them with the knowledge, skills, and global exposure required to thrive in a rapidly evolving, technology-driven world.
With smart classrooms, science laboratories, digital learning tools, and modern residential facilities, the school has been purposefully built to nurture excellence, discipline, and leadership among our young people.
Our guiding principle remains that no child in Katsina should be denied access to quality education because of their background. Through a merit-based and inclusive admission process, we are creating opportunities for every talented child to succeed.
In further strengthening our education system, we have also developed the Katsina State Policy on Safety, Security, and Violence-Free Schools, officially launched by the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa. This underscores our commitment to ensuring that every school remains a safe and conducive environment for learning.
I deeply appreciate the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, and the Honourable Minister of Education for honouring us with their presence and support.
We will continue to prioritise education as the foundation for sustainable development, innovation, and long-term prosperity.
To our students: this is your moment, stay focused, remain disciplined, and pursue excellence with determination.
The future is yours to build.

HAJJ EXERCISE 2026
Earlier today, I inaugurated the Katsina State Delegation for the 2026 Hajj Exercise and appointed Alhaji Ahmed Usman El-Marzuq as Chairman and Ameerul Hajj.
This important step reflects our commitment to ensuring that intending pilgrims from Katsina State enjoy a smooth, well-coordinated, and successful pilgrimage. Hajj is a sacred obligation that requires careful planning, dedication, and sincerity, and I have charged the delegation to serve with integrity, fear of Allah, and a deep sense of responsibility.
The committee has been entrusted with coordinating all arrangements for the exercise, facilitating the successful airlift of pilgrims, ensuring their welfare both in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, and recommending ways to improve future Hajj operations.
Our administration remains resolute in prioritizing transparency, efficiency, and the comfort of our pilgrims at every stage of the journey. I also urge all intending pilgrims to remain law-abiding, cooperative, and worthy ambassadors of Katsina State throughout the exercise.
I congratulate the members of the delegation and pray for Allah’s guidance and success as they undertake this important assignment.
@dikko_radda Your Excellency Sir, we humbly remind you of the issue regarding the outstanding balance of fertilizer for 2014 affecting Malumfashi farmers. We sincerely seek your kind intervention on this matter, Sir.
@dikko_radda
Agriculture is the backbone of livelihoods for many of our people, and transforming the sector remains one of our top priorities in Katsina State. Yesterday, I received a delegation from the Islamic Development Bank led by Dr. Masuda Saidova during their working visit to our state.
I assured that Katsina is not waiting for external support alone. We are investing our own resources, building strategic partnerships, and implementing practical solutions that will strengthen agriculture, create jobs, and reduce poverty.
Our interventions include subsidised fertiliser for farmers, improved seeds, extension services with over 800 trained personnel, irrigation support through tube wells and solar-powered pumps, livestock programmes for women and rural households, and expanded mechanised farming.
We believe agriculture is central to food security, economic growth, and tackling unemployment and insecurity by productively engaging our youths.
I appreciate the Islamic Development Bank delegation for recognising our efforts and for their commitment to support large-scale agricultural hubs that will boost food production, create opportunities, and improve livelihoods across Katsina State.
