Some encounters carry more weight because of the legacy attached to the person standing in front of you.
I was privileged to meet Emeritus Professor Osato Giwa-Osagie at the 2023 Association for Reproductive and Family Health (AFRH) Conference.
Prof. Giwa-Osagie is a pioneer of assisted reproductive medicine in Nigeria. He played a foundational role in pioneering IVF at LUTH, contributing to the work that led to Nigeria’s first IVF birth in 1989.
Meeting him was a reminder that progress in healthcare is built over decades; through research, persistence, teaching and the courage to pursue what once seemed impossible.
It was an honour to meet a pioneer whose work has not only shaped reproductive medicine in Nigeria, but also expanded the possibilities for the generations that came after.

Nigerians will willingly take Ozempic, GLP-1s & whatever is trending for weight loss, but when it comes to vaccines, the skepticism suddenly becomes very deep & they're all researchers, we really need to have a conversation about how we decide what is “safe” enough for our health

As we celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child, we’re offering the HPV vaccine at a special rate of ₦30,000 per dose until October 15th for Abuja residents. Take advantage of this opportunity to stay protected against cervical cancer #InternationalGirlsDay@anthea_grace
Cervical cancer is preventable through screening and vaccination. What’s missing? Access. Finance. But we can bridge that gap, one woman at a time. Sponsor a woman today and protect their future. Every woman deserves the chance to stay protected.

Cervical dysplasia is a treatable condition, since it usually has no symptoms, regular Pap smears and cervical screenings are the best way to detect and treat it early before it can progress to cervical cancer. #CervicalCancerAwareness@the_naomii@cute_jamiah@Uncle2Triplets
Cervical Cancer is one of the most preventable cancers in women. With HPV vaccination, regular screening, and early treatment, we can stop it before it even starts. Awareness, prevention, and timely care truly make all the difference. #CervicalCancerAwareness@kaytiki@_auxano
When abnormal cervical cells are left undetected or untreated, they can slowly progress into cervical cancer over several years. Regular Pap smears, screenings & HPV testing help detect these changes early, when treatment is simple and highly effective.#CervicalScreening@kaytiki
Persistent HPV infections can cause abnormal changes in cervical cells. These early changes are precancerous, a warning sign, not cancer yet. When detected early through routine screening, they can be treated completely before they ever become cancer.#ScreeningSavesLives@kaytiki
