From my perspective, ESFNA's mission is to unite all Ethiopians. However, uniting Ethiopians shouldn't just reflect one specific cultural group. Frankly, this highlights our political issues. The term "Ethiopia" often isn't inclusive enough.

When a specific group asserts their place in Ethiopian culture, they are often labeled as racists. In reality, the true racists are those manipulating the concept of Ethiopian identity for their own agenda.

I wish ESFNA, as an institution, would strive to unite the Tigrian and Oromon communities. They should set an example for national unity. Unfortunately, the current ESFNA committee is conservative and fails to see itself as an inclusive organization for all Ethiopians.

To them, anyone advocating for cultural representation is deemed a racist, and this viewpoint is shared by other groups. As a result, they continue to promote one particular culture under the guise of Ethiopian unity, which needs to change.
