I just want to take this opportunity to point out that there is a man named Henry Walter Wooten, from Smith County, Texas, who is serving 35 YEARS IN PRISON for marijuana possession.
Carry on.
Hi everyone!
I’m looking for a fluent Wolof speaker based in Accra, ideally someone from Gambia or Senegal. If you are one, or know someone who fits this, please feel free to reach out.
I’d really appreciate it if you could also retweet/share when you see this. Thank you!
Zik changed his name from "Benjamin Nnamdi Azikiwe" to "Nnamdi Azikiwe".
Today people are changing their name from "Charles Okechukwu Okafor" to "Charles Peters".
You can see the clear signs of a people losing pride in their heritage all over the place.
I honestly think this MoMo fraud issue is connected to @MTNGhana because I’ve never received a scam call on my Vodafone account, it’s always MTN. Every single one of my MTN numbers has been targeted by scammers.
And "regular" vendors are also upping their prices to match the 'luxury' brands because they feel cheated. We are just being priced out of living in this foolish city because why is wedding makeup 5000 good Ghana cedis???
Sorry to burst your bubble Dr Slow Sesah,
This is just a raw analysis:
John Mahama gained only 100k more votes: From 6.2Million in 2020, to 6.3Million in 2024.
Considering that, even registered voters increased from 17 Million to 18.7 Million, he at least had 1.7 Million extra available voters to attract, and only pulled 100k.
Remember, NPP did not get to keep their original 2.1 million votes, dropping from 6.7 million (2020) to 4.6 Million (2024).
These lost NPP voters did not vote for the NDC either, they simply didn't vote.
This only infers that, clearly the NDC's numerical advantage lies with a disappointed and disillusioned NPP voter who decides not to vote. Not floating voters. Or any “educated” class.
Now to real common sense:
you sound exactly elitist, and wonderfully shameful that you want to label people who don’t share your opinion or ideas or electoral choices as uneducated.
A while ago, we were calling out the NPP that cared about class and status, whilst lauding the NDC for maintaining a grassroots demography.
Maybe, if the NDC invested in education and in the common sense sector 2009-2016, they’d have had more cities to win, than rely on apathetic NPP voters in 2024.
Then again, you’d need a good dose of common sense and some kind of decent education to know all this.
You’ll never hear an American say “if your salary is USD 600 in America, you basically earn GHS 10,000” - I’m no economist but the overhype of foreign currencies is one of the major causes of the cedi depreciation.
