⚠️ to international fans with XLOV's 🫧:

this isn't the first time someone has had to explain a 🫧 text after people got upset over a mistranslation of a comment in another language (this time it was ❤️🐰), and we want to prevent this from becoming a big problem in the future.

we're fans of a multilingual group. english is not the first language of any of the members, nor is it the center of global communication. many app-generated translations into english are inaccurate, and words don't necessarily carry the same tone across languages. literal translation doesn't work precisely because it disregards the cultural contexts in which words are used, and the fact that we're fans of artists from those countries doesn't mean we have the authority to speak on their culture.

please avoid attacking strangers who are speaking their own language (the same language XLOV members speak) based on unreliable translations. we should not police how people from other countries express themselves when we don't even know if what we're reading is true. when we do that, we end up attacking innocent people for no reason and generating a lot of negative energy on a platform that XLOV uses to communicate with fans from all over the world.

keep in mind that the members chose to respond to those specific comments, and they are unlikely to let themselves be disrespected (as we've seen in recent interviews).

we know it's not out of ill intent. still, take these apps' versions of what's being said with a grain of salt and wait for official translations. 🙏
