The country quietly prepared people to erect Instead of elect

as Ugandans lined up to vote, the country quietly prepared for something else not elections but erections, democracy seemed needed stimulation & security officials were more than ready to add heat to their thighs for happy ending

wat unfolded on voting day was not a contest of ideas but a rehearsal of power, vote rigging did not hide in shadows, it walked confidently through polling stations, escorted by uniforms

In Kibale District, at Biguri/busigye & other Polling Stations where Hon @FrankTumwebazek faced Hon @ac_mugisha a close friend of mine, the script was clear a mayor whose vehicle proudly wore Frank Tumwebaze stickers, parked at the station, campaign shirts were worn openly inside the polling station, UPDF personnel were present not as guards but as participants in presence of Police OC

@PoliceUg & @MODVA_UPDF officers voted not once, but countless times, groups of voters, ferried by agents linked to Tumwebaze, were ushered in without verification, bypassing the voters’ register like an outdated suggestion, in one corner, polling agents openly ticked votes as the public watched, turning secrecy of the ballot into street theatre

I chose to document this performance, that decision earned me & my colleague a full day in a police cell, phones were seized but 2 phones were returned back & one phone still at police, videos deleted though one stubborn clip survived, perhaps as evidence that truth also resists arrest

So congra Congra congra my friends, kindly don’t arrest or shoot me please, I’m just a messenger 🙏🏽

Meet Crispus Asiimwe Mugisha, Kibale East Parliamentary Aspirant Who Wants to End Frank Tumwebaze’s Political Career in Kibale East

Crispus Asiimwe Mugisha is an aspiring Member of Parliament for Kibale East Constituency for the 2026–2031 term, challenging the long-serving Minister of Agriculture, Frank Kagyigyi Tumwebaze.

Mugisha, whose campaign symbol is a saucepan, argues that Kibale East has not adequately benefited from the national cake despite being represented by a veteran legislator.

Tumwebaze has been in Parliament since 2006 and has served in several ministerial positions, including Minister of the Presidency, Minister for Kampala Capital City Authority, Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development, and currently Minister of Agriculture.
