So grateful to see our books on belonging for children, educators & parents now published. These books are special thanks to talented co-authors & one amazing illustrator, but the real magic happens when these stories start conversations on belonging 💕

In a few weeks I’ll be going to my first-ever (on-site) PhD interview as a first-gen student with ADHD! Any tips or advice on how to prepare and stay focused during the process? I’d love to hear from others who’ve been there!

@TweeterAcademic Has anyone assigned a concept map assignment for undergrads based on textbook readings and/or research articles? How did you approach the assignment? I'm teaching a psychology course but all insight is helpful! @AcademicChatter
Hoping to teach an introductory class on qualitative research. Any suggestions on a textbook that isn’t too pricey and comes with instructor resources, @AcademicChatter? Thanks in advance!
And I was 30 when I learnt of silent reading. I read, hear & visualize what I read and it makes for painfully slow reading.
I still don't believe that people don't see visuals when they read- @AcademicChatter#acad#uked
My Intro Psych course includes an assignment where randomly paired students complete the 'Fast Friends Procedure', designed to generate closeness between strangers. Today two former students came by to tell me that they met through this class assignment and just got engaged ❤️

Would you prefer to lead a lab alone or together with a science buddy? How interesting would be a research institute where joint labs are the standard?!
I knew how to feel when my NIH grant was trashed or funded... but no one prepares you for the feeling when the application you poured your heart into is withdrawn by the agency for not being basic enough. Sad/mad/hurt/confused. I'll be sulking in my office today 😢

RateMyProfessors dot com but based on their activity on twitter like
- openness to engaging with those that disagree sharply
- admitting to their hypocrisy and incompatible views over time
- volume of virtue signalling
- how often they block those they disagree with without fully engaging
- how often they had been proven wrong/right in different complex topics
- how often they promote folks outside their club, or how often they engage in circkej3rks
- it should also include some Echo Chamber Indicators
-- Ratio of agreement vs disagreement in interactions
-- Diversity of research paradigms engaged with
-- Response patterns to critiques (dismissive vs engaged)
