The Academic Integrity Collective are grateful to all who support us and continue to lobby on behalf of students and the sector. Together, we will ensure that our students and our sector can thrive, not simply strive in education.

Just to point out - if universities had a minimum grade cap for entry when I was applying for uni - then I wouldn’t have been able to push for essay mill legislation because I wouldn’t have been an SU officer as I WOULDN’T HAVE BEEN AT UNIVERSITY. #WideningParticipationMatters
Make sure you are educating students on the dangers of mills and the support available to them where they will see them. Essay mills advertise on social media - you have to be in those spaces too.
We still need to action to prevent the WHYS of students utilising these dangerous services! Pure reliance on legislation and not preventing whys with different support, reasonable assessments and improving educational confidence will only drive this further into the shadows.
If you are at an institute that is not signed up to the QAA academic integrity charter - then get it done and actionable in your regulations. But do this in tandem with reviewing your practices in assessment design and student support.
A must read for anyone concerned about essay mills. The @FT investigate three with some interesting results which they discuss with QAA's @garethcrossman#academicintegrity
Was really pleased to see the announcement earlier this week that the government intends to legislate to #BanEssayMills
This is the kind of thing the new law will be aiming to tackle:
Essay corruption on an industrial scale https://t.co/2azB4T9QYT via @wonkhe
The @QAAtweets campaign against essay mills has been
consistent, persistent, vocal and inclusive of cross-sector partners, academics, students and media (UK-wide and internationally) for nigh on 5 years. Great news today from DfE on plans to legislate.
Guess who’s back with a friendly reminder to educational institutes that they must embed tangible support and opportunities for #freshers to understand academic integrity and work on their academic confidence from before they even start at the institution?…It’s us. #University
We need to keep this on the topic on the agenda! Contract cheating services cannot continue to take advantage of students without legislative consequences.
My article today on the scourge of essay mills and why we need legislation to protect students across our education system who remain vulnerable without legislation in place @AcademicInteg@QAAtweets
Are we focusing enough on positive language when writing research papers in the #academicintegrity field? Find out more about the language used across over 100 years of research in my new paper in the Journal of Academic Ethics, available #openaccess https://t.co/hVNkNzYW7i
