Have followed their doings for *years* but I officially joined @TELedvisors today because of what happened in yesterday's webinar. Experiencing online wtf-ery together is apparently extremely bonding.
@CCguerilla Thereโs a not-so-cunning median option here - criterion referenced assessment, just as as in VET. Maybe just for first-years, maybe (gasp) right through to final year capstone.
As far as I know, tomorrow's 7th strike day at @Sydney_Uni makes this the (equal?) longest-running strike campaign by @NTEUnion members ever. A good opportunity to look at the background actors at the university who are making our current protracted struggle necessary. ๐งต
Let's call things what they are, and start referring to anything involving 'synchronous learning' via Zoom, MS Teams, Adobe Connect etc as 'Intensive face-to-face teaching'.
(And if 'video on' is mandatory, it's 'Insistently face-to-face teaching'.)
After spending a few hours trying to enrol in a university course, am thinking all students should get additional credit, just for making it through this process. Seriously.
Another significant difference in #voced: the clear and consistent emphasis on adult(s) learning. This is not something that is focused on #highered. 3/n
