the og music video's excellent visual arrangement could make a person tap rewind if they missed a second. it was labelled the most popular song of the year on the new years of 2013. remember the craze. the current one appears to be an awful parody and falls short in every aspect.
@banana_sethhh i remember when hungama was a new channel on tv. shinchan and doraemon got us totally hooked. before that, i used to watch cartoons and kids/teen shows on pogo, cn, nick and star plus, and ig disney too. and today, disney channel has fully transformed into doraemon channel.
@goongoblin13763 what. even my mataji who grew up hopelessly poor in the outskirts of darbhanga spent the majority of life reading and bought all sorts of books for me throughout childhood.
@hathiaursathi don't think it's just a bengali thing. as a kid, my mom would buy books that are worth a month of her salary in a heartbeat. my shelf overflows from books bought for me as a toddler alone. my family has been full of people who write and majored in literature, and i'm from bihar.
everyday, i learn some unbelievable bs about indian families. we grew up tight on resources but every time we asked for a book, mother didn't refuse, even when it left us without a penny at the end of the month. what becomes of a person whose family scorns reading, i wonder.
