Breakthrough HIV innovations are here.
But innovation means nothing if people cannot access it.

As #Africa navigates an evolving health financing landscape, countries are finding new ways to sustain essential health services, & important lessons are emerging.
Following #WorldMalariaDay, Eng. Leodegar Tenga - Chair of End Malaria Council Tanzania 🇹🇿(EMCT) shares how the country is stepping up:
✅Mobilised $750K+ in private capital to support govt delivery
✅Government backing of #LocalManufacturing enabling domestic production of insecticide-treated nets & scaling of biolarvicide production (progressing toward WHO prequalification), strengthening supply chains & the local economy

Malaria remains one of the deadliest diseases, yet progress is slowing. At the same time, new tools are changing what’s possible. This World Malaria Day, the question is no longer whether progress is possible but whether we will reach the right people, at scale.

With decisive action and smart investment, we can #EndMalaria.
Sustained funding & increased investment in proven interventions & innovation can get the fight against malaria back on track. We must ensure these lifesaving tools are affordable & accessible to those most at risk.
We have more tools to end malaria than ever before. And we are closer than ever to losing the ground we've gained.
Every drop in funding costs lives. Every action counts.
Together, let's accelerate the response. The moment is now.

Hard-won gains to #EndMalaria are threatened by drug & insecticide resistance, declining investment, conflict and extreme weather events. Millions of people are at risk, especially pregnant women & children under 5. Together, we can get back on track and defeat malaria.

Women hold 67% of health worker positions and over 80% of nursing and midwifery roles, yet occupy only 25% of leadership positions in the sector.
Women also perform 76% of unpaid care work and are paid 24% less than men, a gap that is wider than in many other industries.
To achieve #HealthForAll, leaders must promote gender equality in the health and care workforce. This includes:
✅ Increasing women’s leadership
✅ Recognizing, reducing and redistributing unpaid care work
✅ Ensuring pay transparency and closing the gender pay gap

The global health financing landscape is shifting. 🌍🩺
For Africa, "transition" is an opportunity to lead, but it must be a strategic partnership, not just a reduction in support.
