@mrichwalsky I texted someone this a.m. that this is the future of higher ed. Alignment with mission-aligned partners makes sense and can help preserve and advance institutions. Of course, mergers don't solve many of the problems but they give the flexibility to do the hard work.

The nonprofit sector needs to be restructured: 1) mergers of the organizations doing the best work, 2) massive capital deployed to those conglomerates for growth and the growth of civic engagement to scale even greater and 3) hyper coordination across issues, and in our cities.

The response to our Uncharitable movie release announcement was huge. In the first week alone over 2,000 people signed up for news and updates. The request for screenings is overwhelming. As a result of this incredible interest, we will have news to announce very shortly about a North American distribution deal that will put, “Uncharitable” in many more theaters than we originally planned. We are making date recalibrations now. “Uncharitable” is the most powerful literacy tool the nonprofit sector has ever had. We want it to spread as far and wide as possible. In the meantime, we are scheduling exclusive pre-release screenings for select groups. Stay tuned!

The nonprofit sector could function as government’s research and development arm for what solutions do and do not work. What works could then be funded on a larger scale by government as well as philanthropy. Government has no social problem-solving R&D arm other than the sector.
