Yes, Pakistan is a rogue state.

It has been seized from within by its military establishment. That establishment treats the country as its personal domain. Millions of Pakistanis who long for dignity, stability and self-rule are held hostage by this ruling elite.

At its head stands retired Field Marshal Asim Munir. His continued dominance rests on constitutionally questionable grounds. Under his direction a puppet civilian government was installed after one of the most brazenly rigged elections in the nation's history. Systematic interference, delayed results, the suppression of popular movements and the imprisonment of Imran Khan, the true winner, made a mockery of democracy.

The military and corrupt politicians deliberately keep the majority uneducated and trapped in poverty. They do so to rule over them, exploit their labour and amass vast personal fortunes. They now refuse to accept back the uneducated and morally corrupt grooming gang members they helped create. Instead they demand the return of dissidents Adil Raja and Shahzad Akbar as the only acceptable deal. They would rather silence those who expose their crimes than reclaim their own criminals. This cynical double standard has allowed a section of a morally bankrupt nation to thrive.

This is not governance. It is occupation by other means. The uniform still rules, the ballot box has been neutered and the people's will is crushed. The result is a hollowed-out state that exports instability, evades accountability for its criminals abroad and demands respect while denying basic freedoms at home.

Pakistan's true greatness lies with its resilient people, not its military overlords. Until the armed forces return to their barracks and submit to civilian supremacy and the Constitution, the country will remain a stark warning of what happens when the sword refuses to bow to democratic rule. The world should treat it frankly as the fascist hybrid regime it has become.
